Balloons- Can you tour the park with them?

Two years ago, we bought a beautiful balloon and tied it to our daughters stroller. We went to ride the People Mover and when we came back, the balloon was gone. The string was still tied to the stroller and you could clearly see where someone had cut it off and stolen my two year old's balloon. It was so disheartening. We immediately told a cast member and they walked my husband over to the balloon guy and got a replacement. They said it's more common than people realize. Now, we only get our balloons as we are exiting the park and keep them back at the resort. Some people are awful.

Just so you know, you can ride any attraction with a balloon.

The greeter at the entrace of the attraction will not let you in with it, though they will gladly keep it for you while you ride.

(My wife loves these balloons as much as she loves me.)

When I managed to get a front row spot for Festival of fantasy the most annoying family in the world sat next to us with 3 balloons and they just blew in front of my face and camera the whole time I was so annoyed!! Totally ruined my filming. So just make sure you control that balloon!

Last August some CM at the Monorail gifted DGD a bunch of balloons as we were heading up the monorail ramp. So happens it was our last day too. We carried them around all day. For rides the CM just sat them at the exit. As we were leaving for the day, I had her pick out a child with a My First Visit button and we gave them the balloons

Good point- I didn't even think about different loading & unloading areas.

I'm sure CMs have a plan in place. Maybe we will just wait and see when we get there!
Do you think it's worth a phone call? Seems like CMs at the call center are hit or miss.
Bring yourself a little disc, or something similar, that is heavy enough that you can tie the balloons to it and it won't float away. Many of the party stores have them for the balloons they sell. A large washer from a hardware store would also work, and not take up too much room to carry around

Am I correct in remembering no balloons at Animal Kingdom Lodge? We're staying at Kidani this year, and my two year old LOVES balloons.

Just last week I saw a couple in line for splash mountain with a balloon and I thought to myself what the heck are they going to do with that on the ride? When I was exiting, I noticed the balloon tied to a railing on the side where you exit. Seems like a pain to me, but it seems like it's definitely doable.

Yes no balloons at the lodge either. If you get a balloon front desk will take it and return it on check out.

Nope. They don't work at the parks, they dont KNOW how the parks work. They might never have been to the parks (or Florida). There is no point at all to call.

From context...*can't*?

You are correct.

A CM handed a balloon to my son as we were walking toward Epcot on our last trip. It was a mickey balloon, and had something tied on the bottom (like a plastic weight) to keep it from floating away. We rode many rides, and they just held it for us when we got on and we picked it up at the exit. They must have moved it for us because even when the exit wasn't near the entrance, it was still waiting for us! We ended up driving home with it and DS kept it for several days, if I remember

This!! I totally get that little ones like the balloons, but more times than I like to remember, we have been slapped in the face by them either on strollers, or kids walking past us.

I don't want to get started on the rudeness of people at parades, fireworks, that let them fly around while attached to strollers. It is beyond upsetting.

As I detailed, you can enter any attraction with a balloon, the casts will handle it while you ride. Of course you cannot actually ride with a balloon (though it would make nice ride pictures !)

I've bought balloons on almost every trip. In my experience, they're a giant pain to bring around the parks, and we've always had a stroller. The wind blows the thing everywhere and blocks your view while waking. Now we buy it on the way out of the MK, and keep it in the room.

We have gotten a balloon on several prior trips. Last time we did they were $10 so expensive for a balloon. We had a stroller so we tied it to the stroller everyday except AK days. We knew they weren't allowed. Without a stroller, I have no idea what you would do with it. We always pass it along to another family at the end of the trip too. It is fun way to spread some magic.
Good idea...I usually pop it right before we leave the room for the last time. Giving it away will hurt less.

In the stroller stage we loved the balloons, which also make the stroller easier to spot after going on a ride. Now that we don't use a stroller and always fly I'm certain we will never buy another balloon.

How long do these balloons last? We will be there for ten nights, do you think it will deflate in that time?

They last much longer than that. Our trips are usually 10 days, and we have never had an issue passing a balloon on to another family. Once we happened to be the recipient of a balloon from a family checking out. I have no idea how long they had had that balloon. That balloon lasted our whole 10 day trip. At the end of our trip, we gave it to another family. It wasn't as firm when we passed it on but it was still inflated and floating.

Good to know! We'll have to pass ours on!
