so in our group we have 2 girls ( ages 12 and 10) and three boys ( ages 15, 8, 7) im a bit concerned that our plans may be leaning more towards the girls- and would like to try and balalnce it out a little:

were planning on ( provided we can get our ads!!) having breakfast at cinderellas castle and doing the superfragalisitc breakfast at 1900 park fare,
the girls are also having the crown package at the bibbidi bobbidi boo boutique.

we also plan on doing the pirate pals wishes voyage

are there any special activities or experiences more aimed at boys? were visiting all the parks so any suggestions would be fab :)

much appreciated :)

There is the Pirates League in MK which does Pirate makeovers.

Boys don't tend to have as much aimed at them though...

Their is a knights package that the boys can do! It would be perfect for your 2 younger boys and its not very expensive either,
They get a sword a shield some mickey confetti and coloured hair gel put in their hair and have a small ceremony where they are knighted an given a name! Our boys can't wait to do this we wanted to do it last trip but ran out of time!

You can book in advance if you go to the main theme park boards and oat they will give you all the info on where when etc I believe it's only $12-15 so really reasonable considering the shield along cost nearly that :)

The phineus and pherb missions at epcot should be a big hit with both sexes.

My DD loved them and did all of them.

Sorcerers at MK is an interactive game suitable for both.

Maybe add in tusker house breakfast (safari themed) or ohana breakfast with stitch aswell?

A meal at T rex would be fun especially for the younger boys.

Typhoon Lagoon do surfing lessons - that would be pretty cool for all the kids, but especially for the older boy as well.

Sammy Duvall watersports - a tube ride or parasailing sounds like great fun too.

Can I be the thick one and ask what the Sorcerers game at MK is please? Also what are the Phineas and Ferb missions at Epcot please? Also, where are these in the parks? I've never heard of them before but I'm thinking it would be good to have something in reserve in case we get there and he really can't stand the rides. You know what it's like with small children, you ALWAYS have to have a plan B! I know we're not going to get to do everything but like everyone, I just want it to be perfect for my son from start to finish. Also, anyone know anything about the new Pirate attraction where you get a map and a compass and have to go on a treasure hunt? I noticed no-one's mentioned it on here (unless it was before I discovered the site) and I just wondered if that was a sign it wasn't up to much? Thanks! :)

The Phineas & Ferb games are located around World Showcase at Epcot. There are some carts where you can collect the mobile phone and start to play - I think there is on on the bridge into showcase, one just past GreatBritain (near international gateway) and one by Norway. You basically go to the country instructed and take instructions via a video call on the phone - they make you interact with displays in the shops and scenery - good fun for the kids!

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom involves heading to the start zone on the right as you come into the park - they give you a tutorial and pack of 6 cards for each park ticket (note you can collect a new pack of cards each day you enter the park). You have a map and go to set locations - each adventure is within a designated area eg Main Street and have a card that activates an animation - you then you your spell cards to defeat the villans - eg Belle's snowball will see snowballs bombard the 'baddy' there are combinations you can do by holding two cards up. Again you follow instructions and go to 4 or five locations to complete your adventure.

The new pirates adventure is located solely in Adventure land and starts at what was a food kiosk at the side of Pecos Bill's (as you head to Fronteirland) you have a Talisman and have to hold this against sensors to find the treasure - again there are 4 or 5 locations to go to to complete the quest. I really liked the features on this - you could set of animatronic sequences that would see water cannons firing or snakes squirting you with water or skeletons emerging from water. It is quite subtle and we did find people often resting against some of the map locations unaware that it was part of a game - but then get quite excited when they realised that it was an interactive feature.

Below is a photo I took of the pirate maps that you use - there are multiple adventures & maps and there are more locations to go to than required - as with all these games the technology knows that if our party was at the whirlpool symbol it may send us to the moon symbol next whereas that family waiting behind us for whirlpool would be sent somewhere different after so as not to build up crowds at interactive points.

They are great fun to do - I missed half the interaction as DS13 loved them and was tearing off to do the next bit before I could catch up. In the end DH and I sat and enjoyed Dole Whips whilst the kids did them!

Looking forward to trying the pirates one.

Dd was 6 last trip and the phineus and ferb missions were a huge hit with her - she is looking forward to doing them again.

I know AK has a new interactive thing for kids based on wilderness explorers (up film) - again DD liked the interactive kids stuff at AK last time and completed them all.
