Greetings! Another WDW vet here, only been to DL for one day and never to DCA. I’m planning a trip hopefully for Feb/Mar 2018 and am looking for any advice on how to choose park days factoring in MM and EMH. I’m leaning towards 3-day park-hoppers and will be staying off site. I’m thinking we’ll be in the parks either Mon-Wed or Tues-Thurs. I’d like to hopefully use my MM, but I’m also thinking I should avoid EMH days? WWYD?? Thanks!

MM is only for Disneyland and is on the same days as EMH (Tues, Thurs, Sat). I wouldn’t worry so much about which park to avoid. Show up early, have somewhat of a plan for things you want to see and do, make use of FPs and HAVE FUN!

If you are not using MM or EMH, and you arrive at or near rope drop, it is best to start the day at the park without EMH, If you arrive an hour or more after rope drop, it does not matter which park you go to as the EMH effect is washed out.

DLR is not at all like WDW where EMH sways crowds. It only matters first thing in the morning.

If you are going Feb/March mid week then chances are you'll have opening hours of 9 or 10AM - in which case MM is still going to be busy - we always try to go when park hours are 7AM for the MM and we get a LOT done during that time. I have gone to DCA for rope drop when it's EMH and we still got a lot done - especially with MaxPass!!

Always go to the park that didn’t have EMH/MM unless you are participating in the DL MM. With that in mind...

Mon-Wed = 2 entries to DL on non EMH mornings (Mon & Wed) + 1 MM at DL for you Tues
Tues-Thurs = 1 Entry DL on non EMH morning (Wed) + 1 Entry DCA non EMH morning (Tues or Thurs) + 1 MM at DL (Tues or Thurs)

Basically, what’s better? 3 mornings of low crowds DL or 2 mornings DL & 1 DCA? Hard to go wrong either way :D

One thing to keep in mind is mid-March is when the food festival in DCA started this year, if that intrigues at all might want to swing towards mid-end Mar. idk where Easter falls next year but this year Disney geared up for Spring Breaks starting in mid-Mar & ran full hours through Easter!! It was amazing! 8am openings 7 days a week when we went mid-Mar! Midnight closings at DL, 10pm DCA. 10/10 would do that time of year again!

Btw, I sincerely hope you are planning to go in 2019...
