Bag for the Park

i love this Tranquility bag from REI so much I have it in 2 colors. It can carry 2 water bottles, has an outside zipper pocket, an inside slip pocket and an outside zipped organizer pocket. The strap is extendable, has a shoulder pad on it and can be worn as a crossbody or a shoulder bag. It also fits in most of the bag pouches on the rides, too.

I have that bag in grey/turquoise and it is awesome. I generally use it as my purse when I am flying/traveling and it works great for that purpose.

Just wanted to give my opinion on one of the bags on here that I Just bought. It's the eddie bauer one here

http://www.eddiebauer.com/product/s...m_content=6146859&cvosrc=affiliate.cj.6146859

It is AWESOME. I am going to keep watching the price and get another when it gets back down to 15 again. Every person in my family wants one now. I'm busty but it does work for me. I would imagine for someone extra busty or fluffy it may not work, so keep that in mind. My husband is 6 feet tall and wears an xl shirt and it has to be out all the way on him. Hope this helps!

Now I want one! What color did you get?

I'm the pack mule of the family, so it's a basic backpack for me. It's just part of my Disney costume. I spent 7 trips at WDW, so I learned that you ALWAYS carry ponchos. While I don't have to do that at DL, I still have sweaters and change for the Penny presses, and a video camera....and whatever else my wife says I need to carry. Sometimes it gets hot and heavy, but it's just part of what Disney is for me.

I tend to go small and light, so I got this for travel (using it daily now to ensure I like it) in small:
http://amzn.com/B00N6T3VDK

In the zip pocket close to the body (which they don't show) I put in my wallet (but it is a very small wallet). When I'm at Disneyland I plan to only bring the bare minimum I need in a small wallet. I don't think I'll be using my DSW discount card, for example, but I'll want to keep my pass secure.

The main zipper pocket fits my large phone along with small snacks (a few granola bars), sunblock (in a ziploc), and a few other things; I have put my Kindle and phone and snacks there too, but the Kindle is a squeeze -you kind of have to put it behind the zipper (at least in the small one ... like they show the ipad in the bigger one in the pictures). I can put my sunglasses in the main area, but usually don't. There is a pocket inside the main compartment, which I am figuring out the best use for. You'd think it would be good for the phone to keep it a bit shielded from the other stuff you put in there, but it makes it a bit harder to get out quickly, so right now I use it to keep things like granola bars away from my phone.

In the outer open/clasp pocket, I put in this water bottle http://amzn.com/B004ULPCJ4 (the 12oz size) and I run the clasp through the plastic handle (note, this bottle can also fit in the zipper part if I prefer, but it seems a bit uncomfortable). I also use the clasp thing to thread my hat on if needed, and this pocket is usually where I put my sunglasses. I know reviews say when you sling it around your glasses fall out, but I must not be much of a slinger because I haven't encountered that problem (yet).

And the small outer pocket I use for keys, change, lipbalm, gum.

It's not padded, but as I try to keep it light it works for me, and as you see it's pretty easy to slip to the front. It won't hold a sweater, a poncho, flip-flops, etc., but for a small bag that's pretty much out of my way as I run around the park solo, I'm hoping it works.

It really depends on the time of day I'm going, if its during the day and it's super hot out, no way am I going to wear a backpack. I'll just take less stuffs and beg my girlfriend to carry my wallet in her purse. If it's going to be nighttime when I arrive or nice and cool outside I'll take my actual backpack with my full payload :) Camera, lotion, hoodie, wipes, etc.

this is kind of me for our family. I packed a basic backpack to use, but our first day in DTD, we got the Disney GWP backpack (sort of like a bigger Jansport) and used it everyday. Maybe it will be different when the kids are a bit older and can carry more, but for now, I need a bigger bag

I had to get rid of my bag (it got covered in perfume ... long story), and so I went to get the Eddie Bauer sling. One color is on clearance, and there is a coupon for 40% off clearance (meadow), so with shipping it was $19.82. Just in case someone was waiting for a sale. The coupon only works for the one clearance color, but the other colors are on sale too.

What color is on clearance? I tried two with the coupon code "meadow" but it didn't work.

It looks like it's gone now - you had to go under Clearance, and then select backpacks; it was the Orchid color.
Sorry it didn't work out!!

I have a metallic blue tote bag with Maleficent featured on it that is my go-to Disney bag. It's not the best for comfort or water-proofness, or, really, anything other than Disney theming and capaciousness, but it's been THE bag for several visits now.

I use a Vera Bradley backpack in a pouch, it's a really thin backpack that is perfect for theme parks... Its a decent size and can fit water bottles, snacks, souvenirs, etc... It's thin enough that it's not bulky or uncomfortable but strong enough for heavy use. It's padded on the shoulders and the fabric used is water resistant (not completely water proof though) I took it on splash mountain several times with no problem.

Thanks for the recommendation, I just ordered:) My favorite park bag so far has been a smaller Vera backpack with padded straps. After having bought about 6 bags specifically for parks, the Vera Bradley is the one I've stuck with now for several trips. I'll give this one a shot for our upcoming trip.

Glad to hear! (: let me know how you like it.

I have used mine soooooo much since my Disney trip.... that I actually bought a second blue bag and a pink bag. They've been clearanced since spring so they're really cheap now.

I have a few other regular Vera backpacks but I love these backpack in a pouch for anything outdoors or vacation/travel.

Really hope you enjoy yours as I do mine! (:

I already bought the other eddie bower bag previously mentioned but has anyone used this one? Isn't it like the baggalini ones everyone love?

It looks pretty similar to the LeSportSac Kasey bag.

Wow, that does look almost exactly like the LeSportsac Kasey! And it's only $10 and comes in a color that could definitely pass for a Mickey Mouse red! :) I was going to buy a Disney themed Kasey but $10 is hard to pass up, especially considering the Kasey Disney ones are in the $65 range.
