Bag for the Park

I use my Camel Bak LOBO. Tiny footprint. Holds 2 liters of water that I fill with ice the night before, a DSLR camera (if I want) plus a lens, and a small collapsible light tripod, light jacket for me and the boy, and healthy snacks like almonds and apples. Back is padded with airvents so it sits off my back to allow circulation. My MULE is a bit bulkier and harder to stash on rides. But I love them both.

Related to this, when using a fastpass runner, how do you keep track of all the tickets and fastpasses? I was thinking of maybe a neck wallet/ID pouch on a lanyard?

I have a slim wallet I use just for travel; it holds my I.D., one credit card, my room key card, and a couple bucks cash. On the other side I put the park tickets and fast passes. The wallet goes on an inside pocket of my small cross body bag, where it is quickly accessible.

In the past we carried hip packs, but they're just too dumb looking. :rotfl:

I used to wear a very dorky but small front pack just to have an easy place to carry a phone and everyone's FPs, but then it went missing on my last DLR trip. (Thought I'd packed it, but it was nowhere to be found.) DD11, DS7, and DH seemed, er, relieved that I couldn't replace it at DLR either. :yay: When I asked a CM at DCA where I could find a fanny pack, he said something like, "Um, the 1990s?"

So...I bought a Disneyland-themed smartphone case with a shoulder strap, which works wonderfully to hold the phone and passes and a bit of cash, and I no longer embarrass my dear family. (Well, in that respect, at least. I'm sure I find *other* ways to embarrass them.)

Love my Disney Vera Bradley backpack! Water bottle in one outside pocket, sunscreen in the other. Lots of compartments and room.

Ooh, yes! I forgot about that one! I bought the smaller Disney Vera backpack to use at WDW. Since Ft Wilderness wasn't close enough to run back to I wanted something that carried more supplies plus would carry back souvenirs at the end of the day. It worked really well, but I can see how it would be hot on one's back in mid-summer! We were there in early spring and the weather was really nice.

Thats what I use
I love doing this too - the pouch on my lanyard. Love it for convenience and security, so don't lose kids' passes.

I am sad that when I go to WDW next spring I will have no need for a pouch because no paper fast passes. :sad2:

I always carry a LeSportsac Kasey bag. Absolutely wonderful as I don't even have to take it off of me to ride rides (I wear it crossbody). This is not my pattern, but this is the style. A small bag that actually holds quite a lot (each zipper is a compartment down to the bottom of the bag).

Can you get a standard size water bottle in this by chance in the main pocket?

Another vote for the LeSportsac Kasey! LeSportsac bags are super lightweight (lighter than Vera Bradley) and water-resistant (not waterproof). And they have Disney-themed ones!!! I keep my FPs in the little plastic holder on a lanyard. We originally got our lanyards for Disney Travel but eventually replaced them with ones we bought in the parks.

Is it just the Kasey version. I can't find the Kasey version online anymore

Oh my, I'm gonna have to stop. I just discovered Lesportsac It's a Small World version on eBay. I learn something new everyday, this learning curve might just cost me!!!!

My 11-year-old brought a bag like that along on our Disneyland trip and loved it. I think she had a small umbrella in there along with a gift card, some cash, and a few snacks and lip balm. I was most impressed by the fact that the umbrella wasn't at all obvious like I thought it would be.

I just had a backpack (one on the smaller side, though not as small as the minis). It works for me because it balances out the weight of water bottles (and umbrellas 'cause it was rainy, snacks, jackets, etc), and hasn't been a problem to slip off for a ride. I like the look of crossbody bags, but without fail I feel the pull on one side of my back.

If you don't want to order from LeSportsac (they can be high, depending on the pattern), it seems that Amazon has some Kasey styles available:

I'm addicted to a bag I bought at the Pirate's store at DL last year. It's a lightweight canvas draw string backpack with a pirate map on it. The best part is that it's completely waterproof, so no worries on the water rides. I love it so much that I actually bought another one a couple of weeks ago as a backup in case mine wears out someday.
