Bag Check!

As we all know before going to the most magical place on earth a lot of us fly to Orlando and check bags. From experience working for an airline at a airport I got a few tips before you check your bags!

• try to buy a bag that has four wheels rather than two. The people handling your bags will treat your bag a lot better. most of the time if you have 4 wheels the guys will roll your bag across the bin of the aircraft. But for the two wheel bags they will most likely get thrown across the bin.

• Remove old flight tags especially if connecting. This is a common isssue on getting your bag misplaced you flew before to Boston and never took the tag off but now you are flying to Orlando but the guys working with your bags might accidentally send your bag to Boston. Sometimes the agent who puts your new tag on your bag will put it on a different handle from your old tag and everyone who is working with your bag sees Boston. It is a common mistake. Remember they work with 100000 of bags a day.

• make sure your yellow Disney tag is tight. Sometimes the bag handlers will get lazy and pull your bag by the tag to take it out of the cart to put on the belt. Or the tag was just not on right and falls off. I have seen a lot of yellow tags fall off of the bags. Since I am a Disney fan I try my best to get the tags back on but remember not all bag handlers are not Disney fans like I am and may not exactly know what the yellow tag means they might think it is a different airline or old hotel tag.

• Don’t put fragles in your checked bag! As you figure your bag might get roughed around a bit by the workers on the ramp but that is not all your bag might go through believe it or not the heavier the bag the worse it might be for you. If a bag is heavy it will most likely stay on the bottom of the stack. What that means about 8-10 bags will be on top of your bag and your expensive fragile items. It’s not that the ramp guys don’t care but all 200 bags have to fit on the flight some how.

• the smaller the stroller the better. Remember the bin is really tight so when you have a huge stroller it will be very tight for it to fit a lot of big strollers that we get come in to the final destination broken. A good way to keep your stroller in one piece is to put it in a stroller bag.

Lol yes it did. The bin is under the aircraft (cargo hold) the area that all the bags, mail, and fright go on your flight.

Thanks taking our first grandson at 5 mo and just ordered a stroller bag, because I paid to much money for it to get damaged. Dil said she wanted to bag it before we go into the plane.
