My brother in law in Pensicola says a hurricane is heading toward Orlando and will hit on Sunday--the very day we are supposed to arrive at the Beach Club Villas for a week.
Yikes!
Anyone else heard any bad weather news?
There is a strong tropical storm (Isidore) in the Caribbean. The NY news predicted that it would develop into hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. Your brother is probably at a lot more risk than you'll be in Orlando. Orlando is the "safe haven" for Floridians for all but the strongest hurricanes since it is in the middle of the state. Keep an eye/ear to the weather and check with your airline. If the storm really is going to hit, your flight will probably be cancelled until the storm passes. Remember, you usually get exceptionally beautiful weather after a hurricane blows through.
Here's the Orlando Sentinel's site for tracking the storm.
Remember that hurricanes are very unpredictable once they hit the Gulf of Mexico. So keep one eye on the Weather Channel and one on WDW!! Our weather man just reported that the storm would probably sit in the Gulf for a day or two before moving in one direction or the other. But they are very unpredictable.
Go and have a wonderful time.
Can you believe that we don't get the Weather Channel on Comcast Digital here in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with 200 stinking channels for $60 a month! (And no Travel Channel, either--my friend kindly taped those Disney specials for me.)
