Just got off the phone with ms regarding our mini trip this sunday and Monday nights...we originally had a studio booked at OKW but I just scored a 1-bedroom at VWL !! All the talk and advice on my other thread of the jacuzzi for my "romantic getaway" and I just had to do it!!

I don't know if I will be sorry in the long run for the extra use of points but I'm sure I'll enjoy the 1-bedroom...It is kind of silly because its just hubby and me and we have no intention of using the kitchen!! Oh well , you only live once , Right??

Can anyone else concur and let me know if they also stay in the 1-bedroom with only 2 people??

Anyway,,now really can't wait...must revise the itinerary a little to the new location...must get busy!!

OH by the way...My DH has no idea we are going yet...gonna surprise him this weekend!!

Thanks for all your advice and suggestions on the other thread!

Your problem will be how to buy more points after you get a taste of the one bedroom comforts.

My wife and I always stay in a one bedroom when we go by ourselves. We like the kitchen (for breakfasts), in-room laundry, jacuzzi tub and the extra space.

Enjoy your magical trip home :)

There's nothing sinful about pleasure. You've got the points. Use them any way you like, and have a wonderful time.

I decided once that I had to go to WDW - the only thing availability was a 2-bedroom - so I took it - 2 people in a 2 bedroom - it was great!!!

My husband and I have stayed in a one bedroom, just the two of us and it was wonderful.

And my husband and two of his freinds are using a two bedroom for golfing at HHI.... but for some reason guys cant share a bed, so they needed the two bedroom

Enjoy it.... take long baths.... you wont regret it.

DH and I bought with the idea of staying in studios. After all, it's just the two of us and the studios are larger than hotel rooms ,etc etc. Well, on our second trip we needed to use up some points so I booked a 1 bedroom... and it's been that way ever since. We love having the extra room and found it was much more relaxing. Hope you have a great trip

I think that is great!! Although, I have not even stayed at any of the rooms yet, I think the 1 bedroom sounds super. We just joined in Nov. and are going to GC at DL this summer so we wont go "home" until next year. I think having the extra space for you and DH is great!!
Since it is just the two of you, you probably will enjoy some quiet time in the late evenings and I think having the jacuzzi is wonderful!! Have a great time and have fun surprising your DH. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

You might never go back to a studio after this trip. My wife and I have stayed in a 1 br by ourselves a couple of times, if only for the extra elbow room they have. We like the tub, and the option of having breakfast in the room at our leisure (we are not early risers). We have ressies at BWV for a 1 br next October to celebrate our anniversary. Enjoy the extravagance.

We not only always get a 1 BR at OKW for the two of us but are now getting ready to go to the 2 BR. Gives us lots more space and can invite family some time. gonna have to buy more points though. Ouch.

Heck, go and have a great time and enjoy your 1 bedroom. Once you have it, you may not want a studio again!! I wanted a 2 br for this trip, but once that happens I will never want to "downgrade" to a 1 br. Enjoy your trip!!!!

DH & I take an occassional adults-only trip, mostly to celebrate our anniversary (since we honeymooned at WDW - pre-DVC) For the last adult only trip, we stayed in a studio at BWV. It was wonderful, but it was my choice because DH wanted a 1 BD. We are going in May to celebrate my 50th & DH's 52nd and we just booked a 1 BD - primarily for the tub. I'd be perfectly happy in a studio, but I fear DH will never want to give up a 1 BD for our adult-only trips. Likewise, our 2 DSs only want to stay in a 2 BD & act like they are being tortured when we stay in a 1 BD or heaven-forbid, a studio. They hate sharing a bed. Last trip, we toted an air-mattress because after a wk. in a 2 BD, we needed to move to a studio for 2 nts., due to pts.

There is no such thing as a "bad use of points" if you are excited about your vacation accommodations and enjoy them. That's what they're there for!!

And look for an add-on coming soon to a home near you!! :)

We were going to have a studio(1st time ever) this coming Saturday for 1 night before our cruise. But my brother had to cancel a reservation he had for 1 night. So his points went into holding...........

We called MS today and they allowed us to transfer his 27 pts and upgrade us to a 1BR for 2 people. I guess we are still waiting to try a studio now for 5 years.

I'm spoiled, I don't think I could ever stay in a studio... even if I was alone!

My DH and I always get a 1 bdr if it's just the two of us, which is about 50% of the time. The only time we rented a studio was when we took 10 guests last month and got 2-2bdrs and a studio. Our first trip as members in 2000 they only had a 2 bdr at OKW. Although we were having guest for 2 of the days the rest of the time we had it to ourselves. One of my most vivid memories was opening the door to that room and seeing all that room for the first time. (We bought sight unseen.). After that my DH will never go for a studio. The jacuzzi alone was enough for him. It will certainly spoil you.

Have a great time - there is no "bad" use of points - I stayed in a 1BR at BWV on a solo trip - it was utterly scrumptious

I did use the kitchen though

thanks

Just Kidding! Who's to say its a bad use of points. Actually I wish I were in your shoes....no not going with your husband but mine. LOL. Anyway, the main thing is that you enjoy and have a great time. My husband and I went down in Sept. 03 for our 10 year anniv. stayed off property and then went to the DVC presentation and bought on the spot. He and I always argue on how to use the points, my attitude is they are there to make memories with, his is a bit more cost effectiveness, yada yada yada. I say have a blast!
