Perhaps you can roll this onto the morning talk shows. I would be surprised if none of them contact you. Sounds like great fodder for The Today Show or GMA.

While I agree that restitution must be paid, it cost waaay more than the price of the book to arrest you, book you, etc. This was a case of a municipality with too much time on their hands. We've got real crime where I live - I doubt that anyone would be arrested for an overdue library book.
