The Delfino Riviera restaurant at PBH will close, to be replaced by a chain Italian restaurant named Bice.

So Universal and Orlando will lose a magnificently romantic restaurant that won many awards. As always, the bottom line is to blame.

I'm not sure if it's still open (word was the new Bice will open July 1), but if it is I recommend you Delfino lovers get over there for a farewell meal.

Kelly, thanks for letting us know, although it is dissapointing news. :( My DH and I have never been w/o our son, and have been dreaming about the night that we could eat there and experience a little much needed romance. Oh well, I guess we'll have to dream another dream. ;)

I would like to say both hello and good bye to this romantic restaurant but I'll be there in 5 days with the kids. I know that I don't want to take both but would it be cool to take my 10 year old daughter? Since Loew's has done away with the Grade A kids program I would like to reward her for going from a 2.5 to a 4.
What would I do with my 16 year old son? I know what he'd like so I'll have to put a block on those room movies!

My fiancee and I dined there last month.

This is (was) an incredible restaurant with great food, service, and a very romantic atmosphere. It rivals V and A's at Disney as one of the most romantic, high quality restaurants, not only in the hotels, but in all of Orlando.

Delfino was a great alternative to the other Portofino Bay restaurants.

My fear is that Universal may some day radically change, or simply get rid of Mythos. They'll put another chain or corn dog joint there, in keeping with customary theme park fare.

I hope not.

But this isn't good. Portofino, Universal, and Orlando lost a truly great restaurant.

Shame on whoever made this decision!

That is disappointing. We were planning to dine there on our first ever UO trip in September.

I realize I'm on the other end of the opinion spectrum here, but DH and I ate at Delfino Riviera in the first few months after PBH was opened and were very unimpressed with both the food and the service. Nothing was awful, it just was nowhere near what I had expected and as such, we never returned to DR. Perhaps they had an off night but at those prices, they weren't getting a second chance to disappoint me again. JMHO.
