Backstage Magic - 8/8/10

We've got to get up early next Saturday to fly out (3a.m.). That's going to be our pain. We have ressies at Ariel's for Friday night (with the WOC package) just in case we don't get FPs for WOC from ABD.

I'm doing the spreading thing out too with laundry and making sure we have everything else we need (chargers for electronics and cameras, memory cards, etc.). I'm not planning on using our backpacks for the flights (we each have a small carryon) so I've got to make sure we have room for those in the suitcases too.

We're going to wing Saturday/Sunday morning. There's a bus tour that you can either just ride the bus or hop on hop off. It's looks like it might go to some neat places so it's in the back of our minds depending on how tired we are once we get there. I have told Matt that I would try to get to Disney's Soda Fountain at some point that weekend to get ice cream! :cool1:

Also trying to make sure we have room for shirts from Mickey's of Glendale and hopefully Club 33 (I girl can wish can't I!!).

Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

I just got back from the July Backstage Magic trip and it was the trip of a lifetime. You will love every minute of it!

That is so great to know! Can't wait until next Sunday (actually heading out to CA on Saturday!). We've looked forward to this trip for so long!

OMG - the single digit countdown is so on - 6 days baby!!!!! :yay:

I did a bunch of laundry and still not completely done. Did some last minute shopping so think that I'm good there. Tonight have to take a couple of things to the dry cleaners and finish the last couple of loads of laundry (man does it ever end :laundy:). Now of course the hard part is not to wear any of the clean clothes before we leave. LOL

I couldn't take Friday off from work so I'm taking Wednesday instead so I'll try and wrap most of the packing then. I plan to go straight up to my mom's after work on Friday as we have a 7am flight on Saturday morning and will need to be up by about 3:30am (looks like we're in the same boat there). I have to have everything packed and in the car when I leave for work on Friday.

So much to do but it's all in the name of fun. ;)

:banana:There's excitement here!

I've gotten the huge part of the laundry done. We're having a PJ day today. The rest of the week we have to dress (Dr. and school appointment tomorrow, headed to the office on Wednesday and an annual board meeting on Thursday). Friday will be throw everything in the suitcase day, drop the dog off, etc. Tom is in Atlanta for work today and tomorrow and Matt starts his three week track out from school (we're year-round) so we're having a bum day. Think we might hit the pool later!

Did some searching on the web over the weekend and printed the menu to Disney's Soda Fountain and we've looked for some ideas for Saturday for dinner (Koji's looks good). Matt wants to hit the pool once he saw pics!

I'll email you our cell numbers so you will have those!

Hurry up Saturday!!! We're ready to visit CA!!!:banana::banana:

So we have an almost full group!!! I know when I asked before there were like 10 or 12 kids ages 6-12. So that should be even more interesting!

4 more days until we leave! WooHoo! Congrats on the phone!!!

Thanks for the well wishes! I can't believe that this trip is actually only 4 days away (leaving 1 day prior to the trip beginning)! So excited! :yay::yay:

I took today off so I could finish up all the loose ends and pack so I guess I'd better get to it. =)

I'm right there with you - getting very excited that it's almost time!:cool1:

Just a couple more quick errands when I get home from work and then it's time to start putting everything in the suitcase.:banana::banana:

Our flight is at 7am on Saturday so really just 2 more days and I'll be enjoying crappy airplane food. Can't wait! :lmao:

Also looking forward to finally meeting you! :flower3: I'll send you my cell.

OK - just checked the weather for LA and Anaheim and WOW - not the weather I was expecting.

Current predictions:
Saturday - 75 degrees
Sunday - 69 degrees
Monday - 71 degrees
Tuesday - 73 degrees
Wednesday - 74 degrees
Thursday - 75 degrees
Friday - 77 degrees

I'm really not going to complain as the 70's might be a nice switch from the 90 something that we've been having here in Jersey but really didn't expect the low 70's or 69. Guess I better pack more jeans than I originally expected.

Man, I'd kill for that kind of weather right about now! But I agree, not normal, and not what I'd expect!

I'm thinking of just packing a jacket with some capris and I'll be ok. I'm usually in shorts in the 60s with no issue and so is DS. Plus, the kid has one pair of long pants that currently fit and I'm not ready to do a shopping spree tomorrow to find more when it's 100 here. This weather will pose an issue and I need to rethink some of my packing.

OMG - this time tomorrow I will be on a plane on my way to LA!!!:cool1: Can't believe that it's finally our turn to experience everything that we've been reading about in previous posters TRs. My bags are basically packed, ok I really just shoved a whole lot of stuff in my car and will really pack it all when I get to my mom's tonight. LOL

DisneyCruisin' - check your messages for my cell in case you want to touch base. :) Can't wait to meet you and your fam either tomorrow or Sunday. :thumbsup2

Hey guys - just got home from my vacation. Went on the Aug. 8th Backstage Magic tour and then extended it with a few extra nights in Vegas.

This trip was truely a once in a lifetime kind of trip for my mom and I. I can't thank ABD and especially our tour guides Kristen and Diana (& Christian who was shadowing on this tour) enough for all they did for us. We had a great group of people for this tour which made it even more fun. Great getting to meet DisneyCruisin' after all our going back and forth in this thread , plus made some new friends that I really hope to keep in touch with for sometime to come. :grouphug: We had about 35 people on this tour with quite a few children ranging from twin 6 years olds to a couple of 14 year olds and every last one of them were so well behaved. It really made being on this tour a pleasure.

I know that there have been so many great TR's written about this particular tour so I may not do a full day by day report but will over the next couple of days write up some of my fond memories and even share some pictures (well , if I can figure out how to do that).

OH and if anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to ask or contact me. :)
