Backstage Magic - 8/8/10

Just giving this a little push back to the front page as we are now 40 days away from our Backstage adventure.

Has anyone received their package from ABD with our itinerary and little extras? I believe someone said that it show up around the 45 day mark.

I just got off the phone with ABD. Things were sent to the printer a week and 1/2 ago and they do not have tracking numbers yet. I'm SOOOO waiting on that box!

I'm with you - been looking out for that brown truck the last couple of days and nothing. It'll just feel like the trip will be real once it's in our hands. Guess we just keep waiting for now.

We got them for 7pm in the front balcony. Not cheap tickets but I was told that they are having an after movie thing - on their website it says Toy Story 3 fun zone but doesn't give any details.

I just got back from the June 27th Backstage Magic, and we did the 7 pm TS3 on Monday night (the first full day of the tour). We were in the front row center of the balcony, and they were great seats. We went to the fun zone after the movie too. It's basically a carnival type set-up at the high school nearby. They had a meet and greet for Buzz and Woody, a ferris wheel, some snack places, and some games too. It was fun to see the movie that night after having toured the El Capitan that morning.

The tour is awesome - you guys will have so much fun!!

No box just yet but I expect that we'll receive it any day now. I saw where the group going the week before us just received theirs last week.

We're thinking Grauman's (SP??) Chinese Theatre tour and walking the Hollywood Walk of Fame for starters and then we need to figure out what to do. I'm waiting for ABD to confirm our pre-night (our rate was only $6 cheaper than having them do it and their's includes our transfers from LAX). Guess I need to get busy doing some vacation planning! We're crossing fingers our box gets here this week. When I called back in June I was told we would receive it by the 30th of June - but no luck so far.

Just called ABD to check on the box and a few other questions. The girl I spoke with said that the boxes normally go out about 30 days prior to the trip. She said ours were going out a little late but we should have them by next week. I thought that I had heard that they arrive about 45 days ahead of the tour but guess it just varies.

OK - I guess I can stop looking for the brown truck this week.

Ohhh - so happy for you! We're still waiting as of the last time I spoke to my mom. If you received your box, I'm sure that ours is on it's way. Come on brown truck!

OK - happy dance update : Box has Arrived!!!!

My mom just called to say she has received the box but she'll wait for me to be there until she opens it. Unfortunately, I probably won't see my mom until Friday. I know it's silly but I can't wait to see what we got! Getting the box just makes it all so real especially when we booked this back in January.

I know - can you believe it? Have you made any other plans yet for your free time in LA? I think that my mom and I are just going to play it by ear.

My mom just got our cruise certificiate the other day so we need to fax that back tomorrow. I guess after we get our confirmation and be booking our next Disney trip. =)

I'm definitely starting to buy stuff for the trip but need to figure out suitcase situation. We're going to be away for a total of 12 days so not sure we'll be able to fit everything into 1 suitcase and 1 carry-on.

Getting very excited!

I'm worried about the suitcase situation too - but we will make it work - I don't want to carry more than one suitcase per person. Worse case we will take an short break once we get to DL to do laundry one afternoon and let DS have some pool time. I'll be ok with him - so maybe I can take over part of his suitcase. Worse case we will ship stuff home we purchase along the way. I have a feeling Mickeys of Glendale will prove to be an issue!

We decided we are going to walk around on Saturday - maybe try to do the theatre tour - but otherwise play it by ear. I do want to find somewhere to pick up some cokes and some snacks - just to have something to munch on in the room.

We will probably see each other at the airport - I think we get in around the same time Saturday!

14 days (until we leave and get there - 15 days until the tour begins!) and counting!!! Time to start the packing list and get out the suitcases!!!!! I'm SOOOO ready to get going!!!

OMG - can't believe that one wittle week from today we'll be in LA!

Doing the laundry thing and got everything spread out all over the bed trying to see what I have as well as what if anything I still need to get. Definitely need to leave a little room for new t-shirts so trying not to overpack (not an easy for me).

We still haven't made any real plans other than to see TS3 for LA but feel we can probably just wing it a bit. Have a couple of ideas but nothing definite yet. Oh and we did make plans to eat at Napa Rose on Friday evening. That will be an early evening as we need to get up soooo early to catch a 6:05am flight out to Vegas on the 14th. I just don't want to even think about that right now. LOL
