I had read that you will need to rent a locker before riding Rockin Roller Coaster because there is nowhere to store items on the ride car. Is it possible to ride it with a backpack?

I'm not sure if they've changed the policy since I was last there (nov '07)
but I carried a backpack on (as well as many other people). I believe there were also pouches on the seat in front of you that you could put your bag in, but I looped mine around my legs, because I was afraid of it falling out.

I was there in June. No lockers. There is a net pouch you can use but like the pp, I just looped my strap around my leg and sort of sat on it. No problems!

I rode it with a backpack 2 years ago and did the same as the previous poster - just wrapped the straps around & under my legs.

There are absolutely no attractions at Disney World that require you to rent a locker. Nor are there ones where you have to stow your gear in a free locker. You can take just about any personal carrying gear on any Disney attraction.

As others have said, looping a strap around your leg is a good security measure but my husband just puts our bag under his legs and doesn't bother with the looping thing.

We just came back . There is no lockers for Rocking. We just put the backpack at our feet.

Dh and I always use a back pack when we are there, what we do is make sure everything is closed and secure and then put our feet through the backpack handle and it stays where it should

Just rode it 6 times last week and just looped my backpack strap over my leg and put it at my feet. Absolutely no problems with it at all.

As PP have said, we ride with our bags at our feet. I don't bother putting my legs through the straps and they bag stays secure. But when they say take off your hats and sunglasses they mean it. My dad wore his hat and luckily I caught it, otherwise it would have been a goner.

DH caught a guys hat on ToT last week. Funny how people think that lost hats/glasses aren't going to happen to them. Glad your dad was able to get his hat back - that had to be some quick reaction on your part!

On most attractions, I just flip my cap backwards and make sure it is as snug as it can get. I take it off for Expedition Everest and just hold on to it -- because it goes it forward and backward, I don't think turning it around will help. I've never lost a cap so far.

Thanks for all the responses. On our trip in 06 the two of us who rode gave the packs to others to hold while we went on the ride. But this trip we won't have that option. The reason I asked the question was because I was reading through Birnbaum's Guide to WDW and read this quote:
HOT TIP! You'll need to stop at a locker (near the park entrance) before riding Rock 'n' Roller Coaster-- there's no place to store loose articles in the ride vehicles.
I'm glad to know that it's possible without renting a locker. Thanks

Definately no need to rent. You can always fit your backpack somewhere, or stash it between your legs. And don't forget to put your sunglasses some place secure. My DBF was lucky and as we were strapping in and moving slowly, someone in line yelled out to us because he had his stuck in his shirt. It was so nice!

Not TOTALLY true.. :D The Coaster ride in Disney Quest requires that you get rid of ALL of your loose personal items.. They provide a temporary locked cabinet to put your stuff in, but it isn't that big.

Funny story about RNR: My DD, 7 at the time, and I rode RNR last year. We had one of the popcorn buckets (empty, of course). I put my digital camera, cell phone, and mine and DD's sunglasses in the bucket and snapped the lid shut. I sat the bucket in between my legs so I had one free arm for me to hold onto my shoulder harness and one to hold on to my DD. Well, about two seconds into the ride, I felt the lid pop off of the bucket. Needless to say, when we viewed our picture at the end of the ride...I don't know who looked more terrified...me or DD! :lmao: I was trying to hold her and keep the lid on the bucket! Next time, I'll just bring the back pack instead of leaving it with DH!

As most everyone has mentioned, we rode it with our backpack...and Pal Mickey ;)

DH looped it through his leg because I'm a worry-wart, but he said that the laws of Physics wouldn't let it come out, anyway. :confused3

He also always flip his hat around backward so that it doesn't fly off. :)
