Back to Where It Began - 10th Anniversary Trip Report-Dec 2007 - Pics Added 4/7

I'm joining in, saw your pic with MDF in his trippie and had to read yours. Can't wait to hear about all your adventures popcorn::.

We're home again, back to the icky December weather and daily grind. We've got almost 8 Gb of pictures and video to sort through, along with one or two pictures of our somewhat unwelcome guest, Plankton. See oybolshoi's last report if you're not sure what we're talking about.

It was a great trip, but it's good to be home. We need some time to plan the next trip, after all. :)

Loved reading about your trip and the planning details.

It's true that Eric doesn't like coasters, but he did ride Test Track and Splash Mountain with me this trip. It was a big step for him. After riding each one once, he said that was enough. This morning, he went through the line at Everest with me, but walked out the exit when I boarded the train. That ride is totally AWESOME! I rode it twice during EMH and had a FP to do it again later, but we had to leave the park early. I'll explain why later in the trippy when we get to day #4.

I just had to comment on this since my DBf (or you can call him SO, but just remember that does not mean Senior Officer) also hates roller coasters of any kind. For those that have ever been to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO, he absolutely hated the Fire in the Hole. :confused3 (Personally, I consider that to be a really tame coaster. There can't be more than 2 drops.)

I've somehow managed to convince him to ride Test Track. (I likened it to my driving with the windows down. Evidently he's fine with that.) I also made him a great deal. I won't ask him to ride any of the other roller coasters if he rides the Rockin' Roller Coaster. I love that ride! Naturally, I didn't tell him what the coaster does other than it goes from 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds. (Again, I drew the analogy to my driving. I swear, I don't drive that fast either but he believed it.) Anyhow, I guess we'll see how it goes.

If, however, you happen to read a news story about a 32 year old man being carried off a roller coaster in tears with urine streaked shorts, you'll know what happened. :rotfl2:

Glad your trip went off without too much of a hitch this time. By the way, I've sent some ice your way as a homecoming gift. Enjoy! :rolleyes1

Oddly enough, I found this on the navigator control panel on Mission: Space.

Pretty funny. Thought they were talking about ZZUB pulling a #4 in Canada.

Thanks, Sooze. It was pretty balmy when we got home last night... I just stayed in shorts on the plane, intending to change into jeans, but never really needed to.

Hmm, did you push it? It very well might have resulted in that! :lmao:

Fire in the Hole (in Silver Dollar City) is an indoor roller coaster. It's probably the tamest coaster I've ever seen. In fact, I wouldn't even call it one. Basically you run around on tracks seeing what Branson looked like before the Baldknobbers (yes, bizarre name for a bank robbing gang but they actually existed) robbed and burn down the town. While you're watching this, you're also ascending a bit. Eventually you get to the firey part and I believe you drop twice. The second drop involves a splash down and someone yelling 'Fire in the Hole' as you drop.

Regardless, DBf came off that thing looking absolutely green. His knuckles, throughout the ride, were white as he gripped the safety bar. I believe I even heard him screaming on the drops but it was hard to tell if it was him or the two 8 year old girls behind us.

I think Rockin Roller Coaster is a perfect reintroduction to roller coasters for him! What makes it so perfect is that he can't see the track from the outside (or even from the inside if I recall correctly). :cool2: Oh, yes...it's going to be perfect. ;)

Actually, it wasn't a button. It was an actual hole! Like what you'd plug headphones into or something like that. So, you couldn't push it, but I wonder what would come out if you stuck some headphones in there??? :scared1:

It was really funny because the two ladies we were riding with were a little frightened of the ride. We were on the green side, so it's pretty darn tame. Other than a little shaking, there's not much that goes on. So, when Eric yelled "fire in the hole," the ladies started freaking out. :rotfl:

As for RRC, I didn't even try to get him to ride that one. It was definitely the wildest ride there. I loved it, but I know that my DH wouldn't like it at all. I can't decide which one I liked better -- Everest or RRC. It's a toss-up because I loved them both! But, for now, I'll be riding both of them solo. At least until my DD6 gets a little more brave.

Actually, we had a great time talking and taking pics. Made some plans to meet up with the kids again in October when we're both at OKW. Maybe MB and LG will convince my DD to ride the big coasters with me.

OK, when are you going??? We'll be there for Halloween. pirate: Just a long weekend trip to do MNSSHP & Party for the Senses again. :cloud9: We'd love to meet up with you guys! :thumbsup2

Welcome Home! :goodvibes We had about the same amount of pictures from our last short trip! LOL! :lmao: (You don't even wanna know how much we had from last December! ) People think we're crazy! :rolleyes1 I'm glad we are not alone! Hey! Did you get 'the' Plankton from Brenda, or do you have one of your own?

Cheers!

We'll be there Oct 19-24th. My DD has fall break from school that week.

I'm still on page one of your report and already I'm cracking up at your lego characters. Can't wait to catch up now! :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading, KMF. I got chills up my spine when that Disney quote came on the end of the Robinsons movie.

I cried like a baby... Love the movie.. REALLY LOVE that quote at the end!!

With all the snow around, have you found a moment to get your pictures loaded and get this report going?!? Not to pressure you or anything! My trip is a month and a week and a few days away... just want to hear what you guys got to do!!:)

Hi! I figured, since I finally figured out you guys had a TR going, I would stop by and see who I'm going to be meeting this October!

DH and I LOOOOVE the Lego pics!!

Can't wait to read more! :surfweb:

Thanks for posting, everyone. I'm trying to get this trippie started, but unfortunately, it's been a little hectic since we got home last week. I'm hosting a cookie exchange party tomorrow night, so I'm trying hard to get the house clean tonight (along with keeping up with Buzz's TR)! But I'm hoping to get at least the first installment up by the end of the week. I've got all my notes organized and all the pictures are ready... I just have to get my rear in gear!
