We found out about the train tour that leaves at the crack of stupid in the morning.

We like Pecos Bill's and Cosmic Ray's, but the removal of the cheese sauce from the toppings bar was a travesty beyond imagination.

We've been reading all the "food porn" and Le Cellier is definitely at the top of our must-eat list.

I feel your pain on the cheese sauce thing, I didn't know they took that out. That's rough...

Le Cellier is on my list too, maybe I can convince DF to do this on our honeymoon trip!

I don't do mornings very well. I just changed clients at my job and instead of having a less-than-10-minute drive, I have a 45 minute drive to the west side of Indianapolis. The only way to mitigate it was to start going in earlier, which meant getting up at 630 instead of 800 or later. Ugh. Even the spare hour on Sunday night didn't help things much.

Thanks for reading... we're at 31 days now, so we're getting close to moving the party to the actual trip board.

OK, we're at 30 days now. Of course, I have a job interview tomorrow, a project due before we leave, and a half dozen other things going on, so I don't think it's going to hit me that we're on vacation until we arrive at BCV or drive through the WDW archway.

Another Hoosier joining in on the fun! DH and I are doing our 10th anniversary trip sans the kids in January. Hopefully we'll be able to hear about your good times before we head out for our good times!

I don't have any lego or computer connections, but I do have DVC, Indiana, and 10 years of marriage in common!!

Yep, we sure are! We'll see how it goes. Avon does so well at ISSMA, then gets their butts whipped at BOA. Someday we'll figure it out!!

Both DH and I are former band-geeks, so we know how that goes. I went to school in Fort Wayne (Wayne H.S.) and only made it to state ISSMA contest once during my four years there. That year we came in 7th and actually beat Homestead! Of course, that was before Homestead moved up to Class A and became so good.

DH went to Chesterton back in their band heyday. I don't remember how many times he's marched in the dome, but it's definitely more times than I have.

Let's see if I can remember all the times:

1984 - State, MBA Prelims, MBA Finals
1985 - State, MBA Prelims
1986 - State, MBA Prelims (think they were in Detroit this year, or 1985)

6 times, it appears. My freshman year (1984) marked the start of a long downward spiral for the band. Four directors in four years (technically five directors, since we had two different ones in 1987) didn't help things either.

It doesn't look like the band has made state since my junior year, at least according to the indianafieldbands site. We had a really good year in 1984 and every year after that was more and more depressing.

Make it 10 times that I've been on the field, since we went back on the field for the awards each time we were at state and the time we made the finals for MBA.

Well, we're down to 12 days on the countdown! I'm getting excited for the trip. We've got our childcare arrangements all in place now. I just have to write down all of the kids' activities and draw maps on how to get to each place.

I've been checking out the forecast for Orlando and even though we're not on the 10 day yet, the highs have been in the mid to high 70s. That sure beats the 30s and rain that we're getting right now! I'd rather have snow than have high 30s and rain! It's just cold and wet! Can't wait to break out the sandals again! I may even try to find time for a pedicure before we leave!

I went to Valparaiso HS (DH went to Andrean in Merrillville).
I played the clarinet in elementary & middle school but quit the band right before I started high school.

We lived just north of the Valpo school northern border (600N) so we ended up doing everything in Valpo except go to school. Cheesetown was too far to drive for most things.

Valpo's concert band generally stomped Chesterton, but we were pretty respectable my junior/senior years.

Scary... next year will be 20 years post HS graduation.

Welcome! It's nice to see so many Hoosiers on the DIS! I'm actually headed to Target right now to buy those travel size tolietries and other supplies for our trip!

Well, we've only got four more days to go and guess what??? Of course, I'm sick. Both of the girls caught colds last week and the younger one has an ear infection now. And, as of this morning, I'm not feeling too well. So, I bought Airborne, orange juice and cold meds today and am really hoping that I can get enough rest to beat this thing before Friday.

Of course, we haven't even started packing or cleaning the house for the inlaws (who are coming to stay with the kids). And, I wanted to have my Christmas decorations up before we leave. Not sure if that is going to happen or not. I guess it depends on how much sleep the kids allow me to get over the next few days.

Either way, we'll be on our way to sunny Orlando on Friday morning. It's been in the 20s with flurries all day today, so I'm really looking forward to the high 70s and lower 80s!

And any day with Mickey is better than a day at home, right???

Hey there! I figured I would follow you over here from my report and say HI!
I read that you are doing the Train tour...we did that in June..and Greg was/IS the train junkie but I actually enjoyed the tour as well....i think you are much wiser than us going in December though..it was WAY too hot in June!
Our trips will be here soon..Yippee....and good luck getting rid of the cold!! I am still fighting with mine!

Thanks for the hug, Sooze. I'm feeling a little better today. I'm hoping this snowstorm that's supposed to hit tonight won't disrupt my day tomorrow though.

I got about half the house decorated tonight. Still don't have the tree up, but I'm hoping to work on that tomorrow night. Eric's got some computer issues to take care of before we leave, so he'll be working. Maybe I can recruit the girls to help me.

Of course, we haven't even thought about packing anything yet. I definitely need to bring up the suitcase tomorrow...
