After enjoying my snack, I tried to call DH, but he didn't answer. So, I figured the tour was still on-going. I decided to do a little shopping. One of the things on my shopping list for the trip was a special Christmas ornament for each of our girls. Its a tradition I started when they were born. Each year, we buy them an ornament and then they get to place their own ornaments on the tree each year when we decorate it.
For DD6, I had done the Hallmark series (Babys First Christmas, Babys 2nd Christmas, etc.). It was a train set, which was appropriate given DHs love of trains. But, the series only goes to the fifth Christmas (which was when she was 4 ½ years old). So, for Christmas 2006 I bought her a Cinderella ornament. She was very into Princesses and we were headed to Disney on New Year's Day last year, so it seemed appropriate.
DD4 celebrated her fourth Christmas in 2007 (she was still three years old in December), so her series should have still been good, but for some reason, American Greetings had decided to discontinue it. So, I needed to buy both girls a special ornament. So, I hit up the Christmas shop in Liberty Square.
DD6 had gone to cheerleading camp over the summer and absolutely loves that kind of stuff. I was looking for a High School Musical ornament, but couldn't find one, so I bought a Minnie cheerleader ornament for her instead.
DD4 was in the midst of a Mulan phase. Actually, she still loves Mulan. But around Christmastime, she was a Mulan fanatic. She wanted a Mulan costume more than anything (and Disneyshopping.com was sold out!

). So, she got a Mulan ornament instead. Needless to say, both girls were happy on Christmas morning.
After finishing my shopping, DH still hadnt called, so I decided to try out the new Haunted Mansion. The sign said 20 minutes, but it was more like 10. Just as I was making my way into the building, my phone rang. The tour was done and he was asking where I was. I told him I was just entering the Haunted Mansion and to meet me at the exit. I thought about getting out of line and waiting for him, but then thought better of it.
The ride itself was pretty cool, but I dont really remember the old one (the last time Id ridden it was 10 years ago), so I couldnt even tell what was new. It was fun and I only got stuck once. I knew wed be riding it again together, so I didnt worry about paying too close of attention.
When I got off the ride, Eric was waiting by the exit. By now it was after 11:00 am and we were both getting a little hungry. We had an ADR at LeCellier for 4:40pm, so we didnt want to eat too much. We were anticipating a great meal and wanted to be hungry for it!
Even though I had really wanted to try the tuna sandwich at Columbia Harbor House this trip, Eric doesn't like tuna salad, so we decided to split a chicken strips and fries meal. We got a large diet Coke to share as well. For dessert, we ordered an apple crisp. The CM saw our anniversary buttons and gave us a chocolate cake for free! Score!!!

I don't have a picture of the chicken, but you can see some fries in the picture of the apple crisp below. Both the chicken and the fries were good -- hot and fresh.
The apple crisp had good apple flavor, but it was not what I'd call an apple crisp. It wasn't crispy at all. It was more like a dumpling and would have been better warm (and with ice cream on it!).
The chocolate cake was very rich the icing was about an inch thick.
Even Plankton enjoyed the chocolate cake!
We also encountered our first bad behavior at CHH. A couple in their late 40s or early 50s with no children were having lunch upstairs right next to a table filled with kids. There were no parents with this group. It looked as if a teenage sister was in charge of her siblings. A little boy probably 3 or 4 years old was having some issues. I dont remember exactly what it was, but he was making some noise (not too bad) and running around a bit.
The woman actually asked the teenage girl why she couldn't control the children. First of all, it wasnt that loud. The fact that the upstairs of the restaurant was empty might have made it seem worse than it was, but I wasnt annoyed by his behavior at all. And, if she was that annoyed, why did she choose to sit right next to the big group of kids?? The kids were there first and they had many other choices for seats. They could have moved if they were that bothered, but instead, decided to yell at the teenage sister and make her cry. It just infuriated me

and I almost said something to the woman, but Eric told me to let it go.
