Back to school supplies

Today's Target ad has a couple pages of school supplies on sale.

I saw the Crayola 8 pack of Washable markers are $2 - anyone know if that's a good deal, or should I wait?
I am pretty sure the washables at WalMart are $2 as well...I think that the washables are going to be on sale fro $1.50 this week...that is probalby the lowest you will find them for.

i finished up school supply shopping for DD13 this past friday. i MIGHT get another clear backpack and a few extra composition books, but otherwise, the only money we have left to spend is for a few clothes and her school fees.

I'm pretty pleased with how I did today. I sent DH to Staples for me, we got:

2 cap erasers
3 plastic folders (actually on my 2nd graders list)
2-pack of scissors
2 mechanical pencils
2 packages of multipurpose paper (printer paper)
1 bottle glue

After rebate we spent $4.

So add in the 5 composition books I bought at Walmart and I have spent $6 total for school supplies so far for 5 kids. I think I may be able to keep my supply costs under $15 for this year since no one needs a backpack, lunchbox, calculator or zipper binder, I'm going to challenge myself to watch the ads and see how I do.

Clothes will be a different story :rotfl:

Here in NJ it started today. Target, walgreens & toys r us. All have differant supplies on sale here. I will be making my way through these this week. I only have 5 things left to get off the list so hopefully everything will not be sold out before I get there.

I have a bunch of unused Staples rewards. Does anyone know if that will count towards the $5 that needs to be spent to get the penny items? I'm a teacher and always stock up on the penny stuff because we can get 25 of each penny item.

You can use your staples rewards to pay for the $5 that needs to be spent for the penny items and you will still be able to get your teacher quantity of 25 :) I just did this this morning.

Incase you need Sharpie Markers, Target has the 2 pack of black sharpie markers for $1 and on their website they have a coupon for $1 off so they are free.

You can also get coupons for Papermate pens which are $1.02 and the coupon is also for $1 so you pay 2 cents.

http://www.3m.com/brands/scotch/promos/welcomecoupon.pdf Here is a link for coupons for Scotch tape and other products. In the school section they had tape for $1 and scissors for $1.99, so the tape was free and the scissors were $.99! It was nice to have some stuff for our home office!

As long as they are not expired you should be able to.

The washable markers at Walmart are $1.97. So...3 cents cheaper! If your stores are out of the way it is probably not worth the difference in price.

I am in NC. Our Walmart started putting our stuff out this week. I picked up folders (.15), notebooks (.20), mechanical pencils, pens and highlighters (.89) and notebook paper (.75) today.

If you have a Kroger's nearby they have their Crayola 24 ct crayons on sale this week for .25!!!:cool1:

Hit up staples today for all the cheap stuff- penny, quarter and $1 things. I have 4 kids in school so we go through TONS of school supplies. I spent $11 and got 2packs of paper, 2 mini staplers, 2 packs of post it's, 2 packs of bic pens, 2 glues, 2 packs of 4 count glue sticks, 2 plastic folders,2 packs of black sharpies, 2 packs of eraser tops, 2 pack of scissors and 2 packs of those sticky arrows!
Can you tell the limit was 2 of each?
