Back to School Bargain Thread

I actually did see a planner in the ads. I don't remember where, though. Sorry. I think maybe Walmart or Target. I don't think it was one of the Office stores or a drug store?

Maggie

I looked through the ads again and the one I was thinking of was at Target for $3.50.

Office Depot has them 5 in a pack for .50. The have the preforated edge and are about 70 pages.

I was going to post the same thing except ours are 6 for .50. But it also says limit 2 per household. So you might be able to talk to a manager??

Does anyone know where to find 1 subject spirals for less than $.15 each? We have been asked to donate 1000 to a school in Micronesia. Last year Target had a pack of 10 for $10. Looking for a bargain!

That is still $100 donation! I'm sure you will be able to find them for .10 if you have the time to wait on the sales. Target has great clearance sales as well.

I got the email "sneak peek" notification, but my computer keeps blocking the ad for some reason. Anyone "peeked" yet - are there any good deals?

Thanks!

I didn't get the notification (I usually do) but I was able to go directly to the Staples site and peek at the ad for 8/1-8/7. hth.

update - Didn't see much there. Mostly $1 and $2 items, but most of these were in the .01 sale in years past. They had a ream of paper with 100% back in easy rewards.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried both ways, to no avail - I don't know why my computer is blocking it! I can get the website up and just about everything but the actual ad. It's so frustrating.

Are there any penny or dollar deals for next week?

My oldest 3 are asking for binders with accordian style folders instead of the regular 3 ring, has anyone see these in something sturdy (not the thin plastic)? Something similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001GIP26M/ref=pe_56770_16420540_pe_vfe_t5 ? It's not on their lists, they just feel that these would help them be better organized, the 3 ring binders were not successful for them last year.

For those of you still shopping for clothes, The Children's Place has some good sales going on, something like 30% off of $60 and some smaller increments, I can't remember exactly. Also Aeropostale has jeans on sale and a code for $20 jeans JEANS20 I think it is, it's on their homepage. I had my DD choose a pair of jeans to go along with the sale and she picked a pair that was $19.75, lol.

Nothing for a penny. There are $1 and $2 deals.

Some of the $1 ones are:
Dry Erase Eraser
4 pack of Dry Erase markers
3 pack of pink erasers
3 pack glue sticks
Pentel pens 5 pack
pencil box
2 pack White out
Kodak 4 x6 photo paper, 100. (Not an easy rebate, just $1)\
Paper clips

All items are limit 2. When I want more than 2 of any item I bring DD10 with me and she buys some as well.:goodvibes

Not that great of deals except the Kodak paper.

Still have backpacks 25% to 50% off. Though the 100% easy rebate will be gone so buy by Sat. the 31st to get that (we did ours already).

Reams of paper are still 1 cent after Easy Rebate. limit 2

Add 59 cent 1" Avery binders,. economy

Nothing that good next week.

Thanks Dizneydaz! I appreciate it!!

Yes, agreed, nothing exciting...I wonder if the sales are already winding down?

I am SO glad my youngest is done with Elementary School! She graduated in June :(,now she is on to Middle School. I say this, because of the "LIST" of items needed for Elementary. Now I know times are tough for teachers, and I am totally willing to help them out-BUT, when you you a have a "LIST" , and I'm one of the few parents walking in the door year, after year with the bags of items on this "LIST", and I see kids with nothing-I'm kinda pissed off. I volunteer, so I know what goes on, it's get's passed out to-who "forgot this year" ( same kid as last year) or " I'll bring it tomorrow" (never) mind you, if they can't afford it-I'll buy it no problem-but these are kids who can! I'm just SO HAPPY I only have to buy what's they REALLY need this year! I think the "LIST" is a scam in disguise! So sorry for ranting on everyone!

Two of my DD's friends are coming to our house to go "shopping" in my school supply aisle in the basement. :rotfl2: They were both out buying school supplies on their own (not the parents) and my DD said, "Hey, we have a lot of that stuff at home. Just come over to my house instead of buying it." Sadly, I have enough for all 3 and then some!!!

I am about done with school shopping. I am holding out for a great paper deal, the best I have seen is this week at Office Depot for .20 a pack. Last year I paid .01 so now I am really cheap. Should I buy at .20 or hold out? I feel silly being cheap but I like to buy extras for well everyone so I have set price points in my head before I buy.

Did I miss something? What paper is .20?

Today only (Sunday) Office Depot has 500 sheets of multipurpose paper (copy) for 1.00 limit 2 per family.

For the whole week they have the plastic folders with pockets and prongs for .25, limit of 5 per family.

Walgreens, Office Depot and Staples have next weeks ads on line now. Someone has a great deal on filler papaer but I looked at them earlier in the week and forgot which store it was.

All of the stores are getting very picked over now.

Sams Club is letting non members in for free this weekend to stock up on school supplies. Non members also don't have to pay the normal 10% markup.

Anyone happen to see any good deals on an insulated lunch tote ? DD needs a new one this year and I've been thinking of getting one with a thermos to put hot foods. She likes to take a sandwich everyday but I want her to have something a little different some days this year.

Sorry I just got back to this thread, forgot I posted! I found it at Office Max for .20. It should still be that price tomorrow if you have one near you. I did go ahead and stock it. There was a limit of 6 packs so hubs and I got some.
