Just back from the 4/21 Wonder(3 day). The cruise is short but if it is all you can get make the most of it as we did. The seas were smooth and the the weather perfect.
We flew in the night before and rented a car. Went to see the manatees at a small park in Canarveral before checking in. Saw tons of manatees. We were first in line and first on the ship. My children enjoyed the Goofly pool for an hour by themselves as my husband and I went to Parrot Cay to eat. Good as always. We had the PTA rotation and was great. WE only went to the Golden Mickey show as we had seen the other seveal times. We went to see a movie in the movie theater first two nights after our second seating dinner.
Nassua-relaxed on ship in the morning and then took the kids( ages 16, 14, 12) to the straw market. We hadn't taken them into Nassua on other trips and decided it would be good to see this adventure. They made a few purchases.
Castaway Cay-As always GREAT-We didn't sign up for excursions as no had. My kids rode the banana boats when we got on the island. They we headed to the adult area to snorkle-had heard it was good but saw nothing. The water was beautiful and the swim fun. Next lunch-great then a rest before snorkling the lagoon. It had been very busy in that area in the morning and water was cloudy out to the far trail. Fish were plenty way out. I guess the people had scared them to the far out.
We had been on this shorting sailing so we knew how to maximize our time and it was obvious that others were sailing for the first time and you could see them wondering. My advice ask questions before sailing . We got to do and see a lot in the short time.
Now I noticed on our last cruise 7/2003 that more characters were on board-we are "old school" and like the original characters-Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto-with so many characters you don't have much opertunity to see them. There were alot of families with children under 8 on this cruise.
We like the new ( I don't know how new) menu at Parrot Cay.
That's about it if you have any questions ask-don't know if I can answer but will try. Happy sailing to all- Joan
