The second day of our trip was our Nassau day. We had a wonderful sit down breakfast at Tritons (I think!). The eggs Benedict is highly recommended. My 2 DD's and I had booked the Blue Lagoon excursion, and my DH and DS planned on exploring Nassau on their own. I had also booked, on my own, many months before, the Dolphin swim. We wanted to spend time at the beach prior to our 1:30 pm swim and booking the Blue Lagoon Day worked out well for us. It left the ship at 9:30 am and we had a 15 minute walk to the Calypso, the excursion boat. The boat ride was nice and the Blue Lagoon beach was beautiful, clear blue water and white sandy beaches. The lunch provided was of poor quality and they gave you watered down Kool-aid to drink, but there was a bar you could purchase soda and drinks if you wanted. The Dolphin Encounter was a short distance from the dock. It is a beautiful facility which gives you the chance to interact with the dolphins. The encounter is available thgrough DCL, but we opted for the swim, which we had to book on our own. It was the most amazing experience. Donning life jackets, we were in the water with the dolphins for the entire hour. They danced, kissed, talked, and swam with each person. At the end, each person coyuld do the "foot push" with the dolphins. The person would lie in the water on their stomachs, and their feet pointing down, and the dolphin would come up and push them at their feet across the lagoon for a few hundred feet . Being a rather timid type, I opted not to do this, but everone else, including my DD's ages 10 and 14 did it and said it was awesome!! By the end of the swim, the last boat from Blue Lagoon was leaving, so we hurried on and went back to the ship. This took about an hour because we went to another dock to pick up or drop off passengers. It was a rush to get ready for dinner when we finally made it back to the Wonder. My DS and I had the pan fried veal steak in Animator's Palate, and it was just great. My DH had steak, as did my DD's, and they thought it was good. The show was wonderful and I am glad we didn't miss it. We decided not to go to 'Who wants to be a Mouseketeer" but my older DD did and enjoyed it. My DH and I went to the "Hercules" show the night before, and that was great fun, but we decided just to sit on the veranda and enjoy the night together, while the youngest was in the club, and the older ones were meeting their friends and enjoying the ship. My DS had the internet cafe package ($40 for the 3 days, unlimited use) and we also bought two refillable mugs when we first boarded which were also well worth it. My older DD saw two movies while on board and said the theater was great. I did not notice any unruly teens or kids for the entire time, and most of the children I saw were well behaved, even in the pools. I did not have any problem getting a chair at the pools either, as there was always people coming and going. However, I am not sure how it would be if we had a sea day. Tomorrow would be our Castaway Cay day, and the Captain was predicting rain! Part 3 later.
