Today was our Castaway Cay day, and the weather was magnificent!! The view from our verandah was breathtaking! I knew from the boards to get off the ship early, so we ate at one of the breakfast buffets. It offered many things to eat and none of us were disappointed. I was off the ship by 9:15 AM with the two DD's in tow, (DH and DS would meet us later) but we had just missed a full tram. My girls dreaded the idea of a 15 minute walk, but their 45+ year old mother was on a mission to get a good spot! I walked to about 2/3 way up the family beach and found a great spot right before the rope swing etc. that is in the water. Cookie's Barbecue and the bar was just behind us. We had an umbrella, lounges, and beach chairs. I left our beach things and headed to get the float and tube we had rented. We also had a 10:30 Banana Boat ride, which I was hoping my DS would make in time. But sure enough, no DS at the Banana Boat, and not wanting to waste the money, I took his ticket. BIG MISTAKE!!! The water was a bit rough beyond the ship, and as soon as I got out that far, I knew I had ventured into a place where my nerves were never going to hold up. I was SOOO petrified, that the "nice" boat drivers came back and deposited me right back on the beach!! My DD's laughed and stayed on, having the time of their lives!! After the BB ride we went snokeling and swimming. Still the beach was not that crowded, plenty of empty chairs!! People didn't know what they were missing!! It became more crowded after 11:30 am. The weather was not too hot, a nice breeze was blowing. We ate lunch at the barbecue-I really liked the ribs! I also had a Conch Kooler which was great. My youngest DD, with her fair Irish skin, did manage to get a burn near the lines of her bathing suit, despite frequent applications of sun sreen, so beware of that sun! Reluctantly, we headed back at about 3pm as this was my Palo night, and I wanted to make sure the kids got to Parrot Cay for dinner.
Palo was wonderful. My DH got the sea bass, but he said the one at Tritons was better! I got the filet, which was wonderful, and we both got the souffle which was to die for! Our waiter was very accomodating. We then met up with my younger DD to see Disney Dreams which was great!! Once again, we were tired and just wanted to relax in the cabin, but my DS and other DD were out and about enjoying their last night on board! We would be leaving tomorrow, heading for 8 days at Port Orleans Riverside at WDW. Disembarkation and final thoughts later!
