We were there Dec 14 to 16. Just a quick trip for the opening. We got a nice commemorative coin and 2 Pop Century pins with the opening date on them!

I will post a picture of the shirt I had on upon arrival. A cm liked it so much that she got the manager, Scott, to some see it!

I met Tyler!!!!! I got his autograph also. And as his tag says, he's a cutie!!!

Anyways, all cm's there were very nice, polite, and just learning. I can't wait to book my next trip with my daughter and stay there again.

I will be posting pictures later today onto my website for all to see.

I had 118 pictures on my digital camera/camcorder and erased each and every one of them:mad: I was quite mad. My sister (Grumpylilsis) got plenty of pics and we also had 2 disposables that we need to develop.

This place is so HUGE but yet everything is so close without being crowded. Does that make sense????

We had room 5139 with the view of the lake and the other buildings not quite ready. Was it BEAUTIFUL!!

Ok, well more later, If there any specific questions, please ask. I have to go and compose more of my report.

Thanks Tyler for everything you have done for us on the Boards!

I'm already in the process of booking my trip for next year. Might only be for 4 or 5 days but I can't wait.

Grumpylilsis is still sleeping, and if I wake her up, she will be even grumpier!!Grrrrr.

Bus service was a little slow. Some of the drivers missed the turn into the resort. That was funny.

I have to stress to EVERYONE that if you are going down in the next few weeks, you HAVE TO BE PATIENT with the cm's.

One man was yelling at the cm working at the icecream part of the food court. He kept looking at me and saying "typical Disney" having people with no experience! He made me ANGRY! I said back to him "Well, what did you expect? this is opening weekend you know! then he tells me that they should all have been completely trained beforehand. Well I said to him that everyone in the working world has to learn at some point and this is their chance.

then he tells the cm she is not doing the icecream right. He said he wants a sundae. Then the experienced cm comes over and very politely asks which one he wants (there are 3 different to choose from). This hideous man says "oh I don't know". Then the experienced cm said "how about a hot fudge sunday" then hideous man said "no, its too cold outside for that" CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS MAN???? He should have been taken outside and shot.

In every food station there was an experienced cm and a few new cm's. They just need to remember what food goes on what platter etc. No big deal!

More later

We will be going there in February, so it's great hearing about the resort! Where is your website? I would love to see some more pictures!

I haven't used my site in so long that I have to update it and I will either post it here or you can click on the icon near my profile. I will try to fix it now.

I love meeting people from here. I've met more people in a few days than I did my entire time in Buses... I guess I'm findable now! LOL

They've been working on that, and now that they've figured out a few kinks, and improved on them, it should be better. As part of my role, I get to be the Magic On Demand Greeter every so often. I was it today, and the typical morning wait was less than 10-15 minutes, and never more than 20 minutes. Hopefully that will stay as the crowds increase.

As for missing the turn... I think they all made it today... I hope... LOL :)

Although we DO know what we're doing (we really do!), everything at Pop Century is new. New policies, new procedures, new everything. So, even for someone who's done Front Desk for 10 years, it's all new to them as well. We're trying to break old habits, and do things a better way. The POP way! :) So yes, patience is appreciated as we all get into the swing of things. After all, we've never had real guests before! lol

Thanks for the report. I read in another one of your posts that you had pictures up. I can't find the link. Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit. I just can't wait to see.

Madi, click on my www icon at the bottom of my post. Then go click on pictures on the left of the screen.

Actually, lunch and dinner are somewhat different. Lots of variety! :)

nahh don't want to bloody the nice clean sidewalk but Iam desperate for menu details so what were the 2 other kinds of sundaes!!!:sunny:

The breakfast menu was pretty typical....pancakes, waffles, french toast, and platters with eggs and bacon and sausage; breakfast burritos, breakfast pizza, cereal; bagel sandwiches, which were pretty good, but best of all were the homefries or breakfast potatoes, whatever you call them. They were fantastic, and this is coming from a potato fanatic. They also had tie dyed bread you could toast yourself....we tried that of course!

I also recommend the Tie Dyed Cheesecake. If you visit my sisters (ebaynut31) website, you'll see me enjoying the tasty dessert. :teeth: The pic is on page 2 I believe.

finally got to the pictures..evidently did not "notice " that giant box called ' new pictures' before lol! Grumpylil. does not look all that grumpy eating the cheesecake ! hope the breakfast pizzas is similiar to what they used to have at Trailends...yum! may just have to skip the bagels in the room a few more days ( so like why bring them at all since I think they were down to 4 days , no wonder I never stay "on budget")

a question about the safe..would it be deep enough for a larger camera case( maybe 6 x 10") or more just for thin things.

It was designed to accommodate a laptop computer, so it's about that sized. If you have any valuables that you desire to lock up, we do offer safe deposit boxes at the front desk.

so now of course I have a question about the safe deposit boxes( will this craziness ever end,,,probably not :o ) how much and how easy are they to get into.?..I have a very heavy camera lens that gains an additional 10 lbs for every hr you spend in the park that I would like to leave in the room most of the time..bad idea?
