Just returned from Poly with my sick family! Our first trip to Disney and my daughter was so sick she almost missed her dinner with Cinderella and her BBB appointment. Anyways, the Poly was great I just wish we had more time to enjoy it! We had a lagoon view in Tuvalu, didn't think I would like it, but it had a great view, was close to everything and very private. It does seem kind of silly to pay that much for a room just to sleep in! It was a great location and very convenient getting to the parks. Kona Cafe was very disapointing! I'd heard great things about it, only to have a forgetable meal, with poor service. When we confronted the waiter about the poor service, he made excuses of "Well I have four other tables who also have me running back and forth!" Very un-proffesional! Ohana breakfast was great, good food and character interaction, great waitress. Captain Cooks was okay, not many choices for kids. What really upset me about the whole dining plan is that the kids see all these yummy deserts, mickey ice cream, rice krispy treats etc. But can THE KIDS get them for desert? NO! The grounds are beautiful, the pool is very chilly at night(wish it was heated). The boat launch was great getting back and forth to MK. Busses were not that bad, a little bit of a wait. Any questions, I will try to answer.

AAAwwwww....sorry your daughter was sick! That's no fun at all.
Thanks for taking the time to give a run down of your trip though. Do you have any pics? What floor were you on?

We had first floor, I liked watching the ducks every morning. They were so cute and were right outside our door! I will post pics later as my daughter and my youngest son are both very ill right now. I took them to the Dr. today and it is a virus that has to run its course. We tried to be careful and use sanitizing wipes while at the parks and on transportation, but you can't avoid touching what hundreds of people with germs have touched at Disney! :sad2:

I hope your children feel better soon! Poor things!

I am glad you enjoyed the Poly, I think it is a beautiful resort. We had dinner at the Kona Cafe, and while the food was great, we too found the service to be not so good. Our waitress practically threw the food at us, she was in such a hurry to serve us and turn over the table. She asked if we wanted dessert, and before we could even decide, snatched the menu back up and walked off. And from what I have read here, that seems to be an ongoing problem.

Thanks for posting. We are going to be at Disney next week (yay!) and I will be extra vigilant about using the wipes and hand sanitizer.:scared:

sorry kona was not as good as it could be, we were there in july and it was outstanding....maybe when the summer id over they cut staff and it effects the service.:confused3

I had good service at Kona for lunch/supper, but had what you experienced for breakfast.

It is my understanding that all Disney pools ARE heated.
