Warning: English is not my first language, so hope you understand.

Back in Nov. I won a trip for 4 to Disney. The prize included a 7 day/6 night stay at PBH and a visit to the spa. Because we are a family of 6 I booked and paid for an extra room and requested connecting rooms. All travel arrangements were made by a travel agent.

When I arrived Monday (4/21) the clerk informed us that we only had reservations for one room. After searching the computers they found out what had happened. There was another reservation under my name for 8/21.

The hotel was completely booked and there was only one thing they could do. We had to spend the night in the Governors suite. What a sacrifice!! If you saw the Travel Channel show you know what I am talking about. The suite was bigger than my house!!!. What a way to start a vacation!!

The kids had a great time in the jacuzzi and so did my husband and I. Simply amazing!! Too bad it was only for one night. The front clerk told us the nightly rate for that suite is $1500.00.

By the next day, Tuesday, they had rooms for us. The rooms were close to each other but not connecting as I needed them. They promised connecting rooms for Wednesday and offer to credit $300.00 to our account. Fine with us!! In this room we got the cookies and milk. Kids didn´t like them. Neither did I. They had raisins on them. Here the kids also got a shovel & pail set with candies on them.

By Wednesday we got connecting rooms and were finally able to unpack. On Wednesday and Thursday nights we received a plate with an assortment of fine chocolates. I don´t have an idea why. May be in exchange of the bottle of wine we requested (Lowes card) and never got.

All I have to say is they took good care of us, the place is great and not having to wait on lines at the parks is even better. The spa experince was great also. This was my first time in a spa, so I can´t compare it to others.

We didn´t eat at any of their restaurants. We used valet parking during our stay ($12.00/day).

Adios Portofino...............

WOW! The Governor's Suite! Lucky you.
By the way, I never would have known that English is not your first language.

Man - I hope they lose my ressie!!!:p

Sounds like a great time and like they really tried to make things right for you.

ivym,

Your English is a whole lot better than mine! In any case, I understand the Governors Suite upgrade! We will be there in a few weeks and, as DD says, hope they lose my ressie!

What a great story and glad you had a good time.

Wow.. the suite sounds great... I hope you took photos.

How did you like the pool and the parks?

I also had problems with PBH reservations. I had made my reservations several months in advance with AP rates. I had asked for bayview, west wing, smoking. I called and checked this information twice before our trip.

When I arrived, they had me down for east wing, non smoking. They were fulled booked so they had to juggle around some rooms. They finally said that they had filled all my request. We were put in west wing, bayview on the third floor.

We arrived at the room to find there were no ashtrays. We called the desk and was told that the only smoking rooms were on the fifth floor and we couldn't move as they were fully booked. My husband is the smoker, so he had to leave the room each time he wanted to smoke. He was not happy!

Otherwise, we loved the resort. And the FOTL access was awesome. We would definitely stay there again, I just have to make sure my husband quits smoking first.
