Spent from 10/27 to 11/3 at OKW prior to 7 day'er. Our 2 bedroom at South Point was in great condition except for rack on door of the "fridge". WDW was VERY quiet (very seldom had to wait more than 10 minutes for rides or other events. On the cruise we attended the DVC members informational gathering. We received DVC hats and had other give aways. They must look at this board for one rep. mentioned that contrary to what is being mentioned on a "website", no official name has been announced for the DVC resort at the Beach Club. Also after the meeting I asked about Eagle Pines and they stated that it is still a go for the first stage, but may be about 4 years away before completion. This was what I also had heard the previous week when we visited the open house area at the Boardwalk.

Thanks for the information. Hope you really had a great time.

According to the official May 25, 2000, press release from Disney Vacation Development, Inc., operators of Disney Vacation Club, "The proposed development – which will be called Disney's Beach Club Villas – is slated to occupy a 6-acre site next to the Disney's Beach Club Resort in the Epcot Theme Park Resorts area within Walt Disney World Resort." (I added the bold highlighting.)

That certainly sounds like an announcement of an official name to me.

Of course, there's no reason why DVD can't change the name if they come up with something better.

On the other hand, the official July 19, 2001, press release about the new DVC resort at Eagle Pines does not identify any name for that resort.
