Hi everyone

Got back from NYC yesterday afternoon, after a very long stressful travelling day, but it was a fantastic trip. I will get on with a trippie soon, but in the meantime, here are my highs and lows:

Highs
Limo to the hotel which Andy organised as a surprise for me
Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island (my favourite day)
Wicked - was totally wicked!
Shopping - cheap prices and shops that open til midnight!
Hotel - was ideally located
Weather - it was s-o-o-o-o hot
Subway - suprised us by being easy to use
Watching the penguins being fed at Central Park Zoo

Lows
JFK airport - nightmare :scared1:
Empire State Building - great views but terrible organisation
Sore feet!

Nice to see you all again.

Hey Laur's welcome home! Can't wait for the trippie! Shops open until midnight - poor Andy must have sore arms carrying all your shopping!:rotfl2: That was so cool getting a limo to the hotel:thumbsup2 §

Welcome back, Laurs!

New York is my favourite city in the whole world, I can't wait to go back in a few weeks time. Did you manage to go up the Statue of Liberty? Which hotel did you stay at?

So glad to hear you had a great trip. :goodvibes

Glad you had a great time. What hotel did you choose in the end. We stayed at Hotel Metro and loved it. :thumbsup2

Welcome back Laurs, sounds like a wonderful trip, cant wait to read all about it, I would love to go to NY one day:thumbsup2

Sounds brilliant. We went in 2002 we took the ferry to ellis island also, but the driver of the ferry told us not to bother getting off for the statue of liberty as we could only walk round, he stopped by for about 10 mins. Ellis island was my favourite day also...did you go in the Disney Store? Are you fed up of seeing GAP and footlockers on every street corner??lol

Welcome back, Laur's, I love NY & look forward to your trip report:goodvibes

We stayed at the Hotel Metro on your recommendation, Michelle, and thank you so much because it was wonderful. I couldn't believe how well located it was.

did you go in the Disney Store?

Can't believe I forgot to mention this! Yes, we did and had our photos taken with Minnie in her Statue of Liberty costume, and Donald in his Fireman costume - fantastic :thumbsup2

Did you manage to go up the Statue of Liberty?

We went up on the viewing platform, which is as far as you are allowed to go nowadays. However, having seen the steps inside the statue, I'm glad we couldn't go any higher!

Shops open until midnight - poor Andy must have sore arms carrying all your shopping!

::yes:: Jill, you know me too well!

Thank you all for the welcome home, I will get started on a trippie soon, probably next week, and yes there will be lots of photos when I get round to uploading them!
