Back from MNSSHP

Yeah I was also wondering what you do when you enter the park for the party. We will be coming from the Hollywood studios because we have reservations at 5 so we wont get there until maybe 630. Do you swipe the key to the world card and then give them your party ticket or what do you do?! Its our first time going! HELP:confused3

BTW- you guys rock on here...i dont know what I would do if i didnt get on here everyday and get all this help for our trip!!!:thumbsup2

As long as it's after 4:00p, you just enter the park as you normally would but you will swipe your party ticket instead and there will be a CM on the other side to put the wristband on you and hand you a trick or treat bag. That's it.

After 4:00p, you do not need a regular admission ticket to enter, just your party ticket.

We went last Fri. also. Just got back last night and at work now so havent read through.

Yes, we arrived at 4pm and they gave us our wrist band when we entered. They did have party people entering to the right. The photopass guy was there taking pictures with the pumpkins.

We talked to several cast members that said that Disney had sold less than 8,000 tickets for the first party and it was clearly not crowded and was awsome. This was our 5th and the best party we had ever attended. Here are some of our observations.
-The candy this year was the best we had gotten.
- They were handing out Giradelli bars as you left.
-The haunted mansion girl was a blast and loud, she was calling on guest and making them answer. In the past we had seen a woman but she mostly stayed quiet, not sure if she was real or not. This one was so much fun.
-The CM at haunted mansion were all dressed deadly and they all looked so good.
-The parade was great !! A few minor changes. Barbosa was walking around. The man with the hound was in the parade. The cowboys and cowgirls were seperated. I thought they danced together last year, could be wrong.
-There were more trick or treating options. They had one in front of the speedway and inside of the back of the harbor house. The treat spot down by the riverboat was different. They had a coffin out with a skelleton hand pushing the casket up. It was flanked by black flowers.
-Characters~
Christopher Robin was with Pooh and friends
Snow White and dwarfs were near tea cups
space Pluto, buzz, stitch were beside of Buzz ride

Gotta go (back to work) let me know if you have any questions

Just checking, it was Christopher Robin with Pooh and Friends or Darby (who has been appearing lately)?????

When we were there 8/30-9/5 we always saw Darby. We saw her quite a few times during our trip, but we never saw Christopher Robin.

The strollers are not free this year. We went 9/5, and since I read the boards;) I knew ahead of time, but others did not, and we saw more than a couple families a little upset about paying $31 for a double for the night. As far as adults dressed up and faces painted- I'd say it was about 50/50 as far as adults dressing up, and many had their faces painted (including my mom.) When my son was getting his face painted, the face painter kept asking me what I was going to get and that I had to get something. I thought about it, but it was so hot, I thought it would just melt off anyways. I think you'd fit in just fine to dress up, get your face painted and go trick or treating. Have fun!

I'm sorry but I have confliciting news with the poster just above me. We went to the 9/5 party and we got our stroller for free. Not sure if it was timing or an uninformed cm but we received a double stroller most definitely free from the normal rental spot right after we walked thru the turnstiles.

As stated before, party was awesome and had little to no wait time on all rides. merchandise was pretty cool as well, the shirt theme this year is sort of a Haunted Mansion one (which I love, so yeah for me). Now that I think of it I'm not sure if that was the official t for the event or not but I am pretty sure it was. Dark grey or black and has the entire mansion on the shirt with the fab 5 on the scene. Sorry, no picture at the moment. Pins were cute individually but I was disappointed with the frame set, it is, IMHO, quite plain and boring.

CM's were great, we ate at Liberty Tree just before the party and the characters were dressed in Halloween costumes as well as all the cm's dressed like Haunted Mansion cast members.

Some characters that stood out for us were actually Lady Tremaine and Anastasia and Drezella (sorry for the spelling). They were back behind the castle and were absolutely fabulous in the way that they interacted with the guests. Jack was awesome as always, and the parade is a must see.

Overall, another great event that will have us back again later this year.

New year, new cutbacks. I'm sure we'll be reading confirmation of it soon.

... and I think a totally new company running the operations, hence the steep rise in cost to rent them - its sickening what they are charging these days!

Just curious. This will be our first time attending. DH is attending a convention in Orlando the weekend of 09/26-09/28 and we decided to try MNSSHP since we would be there that weekend. Now, the 26th there was no advanced purchase discount, nor a discount for AP holders, so is this one of those nights that always sell out? Anyone have any ideas. I'll wait until after to decide if it was too much money.

I appreciate everyone that has given updates! Thank you!

There is a lot going on that weekend is my guess why there isn't a discount for that party. That is the day after the Member cruise comes in, there is a 5k at AK on Saturday. So there is a built in audience for the party. I can't guess whether or not it will sell out. My magic ball isn't working and Miss Cleo isn't answering her phone :) Sorry.:rotfl:

We went last night and asked about strollers when we went in and were told that they were not free. We had to pay for one for ds. We enjoyed the party though as there weren't many people there. We also didn't have any rain which had been called for so that was great.

Just a question about entry. I know you can enter at 4pm with your party ticket. But here is the question, do you have to enter from a specific side of the entrance? ie, the side by Guest Services or the side by Town Hall? If you enter at or about 4 do they give you the wristband at that time?

Hmmm... I'm not sure, like I said I personally didn't try to get one, because I had read beforehand that they weren't going to be free, so we brought our own, but I swear I heard the CM at the front of MK where the strollers are telling ppl. that they were not free for MNSSHP. My sister even asked a CM in the park (she was thinking about getting one for her son) and he told that they were not free, so she never tried. I didn't personally have to pay for one, but I'm pretty sure everyone at the park that night had to pay- maybe you got some magic?;)

We also went last night and had a GREAT time!! I don't think the strollers were free because they asked to see my stroller rental ticket..... The crowds were very minimal.. All of the rides were walk right on...:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 A little disappointed though in the CM at the face painting. I was not aware of the free face painting so at 6:30pm my 3 year old daughter got her costume on and had her face painted for the party. The CM at the face painting booth told the people after us that at 7:00 the face painting would be free!!!!! :headache: I then approached the CM and stated that why did she not tell us this info before my daughter had her face painted?????? She turned to me a said SORRY, and then went on her way!!! Very upseting!! Some little things here and there that were disappointing and not DISNEY like during our trip but overall had a GREAT trip.

Thanks for posting all this info... Now I have one really stupid question. What do you say/do when you go to the candy stations to trick-or-treat??? Now don't laugh at me  In Denmark we don't celebrate halloween, so I haven't got a clue of what to do...
This will not only be my first halloween at WDW but also my first halloween ever :thumbsup2

Halloween is a blast its just lots of fun. At the Candy stations, you can say "Trick-or Treat" which is what children say for Halloween in the United States or you can just smile and say Hi. I really dont recall my kids saying anything except "Thanks and Come on Mom and Dad there is more candy over there".
