First, let me say that Cincinnati puts on an awesome party......extremely crowded, but awesome nonetheless!
We got to Cincy on Friday afternoon right around 6, made our way to the Ky Convention Center where we all picked up our race numbers and Dh, Bradley's, and my t-shirts. Then we headed to our hotel, let the kids swim for a bit and then off to bed.
Got up Saturday and made our way to Sawyer Point, right on the Ohio River, where the kids expo and races were to be held. Beautiful park. The kids picked up their t-shirts. They had a lot of booths and a lot of freebies for the kids. Costumed characters and clowns, too. The kids all ran in turn...Selena, then Destiny and Garrett, followed by Brittany. They all got medals for finishing. They are soooooooooo proud of those medals and t-shirts. They are already laying out to wear to school tomorrow.
Next, Bradley and I lined up for the 5K. He did an awesome job of about 32:30 (unofficial), while I finished it (YEAH!!!!) in 57:45 approx. Pretty good for a lady who had a baby five months ago, still has all her "baby" fat, and really didn't have much training! LOL! After getting our medals and cooling off, we went back to the hotel for a bit before heading to the Aquarium. Very nice place.
Sunday morning, it was up bright and early at 4 am to drive DH to the marathon start line. Despite the cold and the rain, he finished in 3:53 or so. Said he felt better after this race than he has after any other.
All in all, we had a very wonderful weekend. A very much needed wonderful weekend!
I will post pics as soon as I get them develped (hopefully Tuesday).
