We just returned Sunday from 12 wonderful nights at OKW. We stayed in a 1 bedroom (lockoff) unit. 4423. Our one and only complaint was the constant bus noise that we heard in the room. The studio lock off portion of this unit, 4422, was located right on the road, and must have heard a lot more noise than we did in our unit. We couldn't leave our balcony door open, and didn't use the balcony that much due to the noise. Our room was a short distance from the bus stop. We heard the buses taking off from the bus stop, driving by our room, going around the small rotary to turn around and driving back by again. This really was a very small annoyance, but something we will pay attention to the next time we check in. This was our 4th trip to OKW, and our first time hearing the bus noise.

The room was in fantastic shape. Not one complaint!

We also give very high praise to housekeeping. They were wonderful! We rearranged our full cleaning days to spread them out over our 12 night stay. No problems, and didn't need to call and remind them. I went to use the iron one day and found that it didn't heat very well and water was leaking from it. I called to have it replaced, and a I swear 3 minutes didn't pass before there was someone at our door holding a brand new iron! This thing was fantastic..practically ironed the shirt for me! lol!!

Lots of landscaping going on around the turtle pond area while we were there. They were trimming trees and bushes. The place really looked fantastic.

Bus service....we always have a car and only use the bus to get to and from the magic kingdom. Service really wasn't that bad for the MK. All wait times, with the exception of one, was 10 minutes or less. We did wait 40 minutes one eveing. We were heading to the MK for MVMCP and wanted to get to the park before it closed at 6 PM. We were at the bus stop at 4:30, but the bus didn't arrive until 5:10 PM. We did make it to the park by 5:45, so no problem getting our wrist band for the party so we could stay in the park until the official party start time of 7 PM. I think OKW has better bus service than we experienced with BWV last month..at least we didn't have to share a bus with 4 other resorts!

Tried to get updated info out of several DVC reps we saw at the parks, but no one had anything new to offer. This is the first time they haven't been that "friendly"..or at least, we noticed something different in their attitude this trip. No news on when presales might begin for beach club or when ground will be broken for the new resort by eagle pines. Everyone kept telling us they haven't been told a thing yet.

Drove by BCV's. The building looks great!

Took a tour of the VWL. This place is fantastic! When we saw the pictures of the room decor in vacation magic awhile back, we didn't think we liked it, but everything is so warm and inviting when you see it in person. We really loved the DVC lobby area too, lots of cozy nooks. Of course, the WL christmas decorations are fantastic too!

Parks never felt crowded, attendance on the weekends is much higher than week days. Almost everyone we spoke to in line for the candlelight processionals we attended were local folks.

Holiday decorations were fantastic everywhere you looked! MK was like a page right out of Norman Rockwell.

We were there during the press event. We really were not inconvenienced by the event. They did close the MK at 6 one evening and MGM at 4 for special press events, but we just went into another park. We were fortunate enough to see the special press event fire works at MGM on the 5th...we were leaving the BWV's around 10 to head back to OKW..we pulled into the parking lot and watched a fantastic show. Show went on for over 20 minutes, and had some very interesting shells. They really did it up right for the press! We went to MGM on the 5th, Walts 100'th birthday. That morning they handed out paper birthday hats, we went in the afternoon, so we didn't get one. There was press crawling all over the place, and the 2:30 parade was MC'd for TV. Other than that, it was business as usual. We met Art Linkletter coming out of the Prime time Cafe! He looked fantastic! (please, tell me you're all old enough to know who art linkletter is!) We didn't run into any other celeb's, but we heard there were lots around. We attended 2 candlelight processionals, and saw wayne brady and robby benson. We also stopped by one evening to hear phylicia Rashad for awhile. All did a fantastic job.

Well, this is long enough. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

You really brought back memories of our early Dec. trip last year! I want to go at this time again, but our guests we have invited don't want to go in December, so I guess I have to go January again for a few years!
