We got in very early this morning from a fabulous trip "home" to the BCVs over Easter. We flew out on Good Friday morning on SWA out of DTW with a change of planes at BNA. Got "C" boarding cards at check-in at DTW at 5:00 a.m. on the DTW-BNA leg but DH and I still managed to sit together. We got "B" boarding passes for the BNA to MCO leg and managed to snag EXIT ROW seats. Lots of families were denied the Exit Row because they had children in other rows. SWA held preboarding down to those with special needs and children under 4 and IMMEDIATE family only. Grandparents were denied. On our trip back, someone in the "A" group tried to hold Exit Row seats for some friends further back. The FA put a kabash on that! Also, the FA made an elderly lady move out of the EXIT row on one of our legs because she felt she would be unable to assist if needed. WTG SWA! Also, the BNA - MCO leg was very turbulent. It was a testimony to NOT having a lap child. One lap child smacked his head on the tray table and it raised a nice goose egg. Had that child been belted in, it wouldn't have happened!

Check in on Friday went great. We had a cheery CM at 12:30. Room was assigned but not ready, (One Bedroom, fifth floor right by the middle elevator). DH and I headed over to DTD and grabbed lunch at Earl of Sandwich and then did some shopping. We called about 3:00 and the room was ready so we headed to PUBLIX and back to the BCVs. We had friends that later joined us in the evening. We found the room in GREAT condition and had absolutely NO problems at all.

We were thrilled to find out that the new Marketplace at the BC opened that day. This is a real advantage. It offers a limited selection of sandwiches, clam chowder and a Mug Refill station. It is very convenient to the BCVs. We grabbed a quick lunch there on Saturday and found the food tastey! Staff was friendly and very helpful.

Our friends did some training runs on Saturday morning (one is trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon) while DH and I vegged. We walked over to EPCOT and enjoyed the beautiful day. Later in the evening we had PS at Whispering Canyon for dinner and had a great time. If any of you were there, our table was the one with the cell phone. :) Afterwards, we headed over to WDW and Buzz was a walk on, along with the TTA. We stayed for Wishes and headed out of the park and back to bed.

On Easter Sunday morning we had PS at Cape May and again, had a great time. The characters were great, as was the food. We walked off our breakfast at EPCOT again, did El Rio and Spaceship Earth. We checked out of our one bedroom and into a studio (431 dedicated, wood view, amazing balcony) and said good bye to our friends who were headed back home. 431 is a smoking optional room. I could tell someone had smoked in it, but it wasn't overpowering. Again, we found NO problems with this room. It was clean and in good condition, albeit normal wear and tear. Sunday evening had us at EPCOT for ILLUMINATIONS. It was late in starting due to "technical difficulities" They ended up towing the globe out prior to the show and the whole fire scene during CHAOS was eliminated. Later in the week, things were back to normal.

The rest of the vacation, DH and I played by ear. We ended up at the MK on Tuesday morning about 9ish and by noon had done Pirates, HM, TTA, Mickey's Philharmagic as walk ons, believe it or not! By noon, the park was getting crowded so we headed on out. We went over to MGM and got fast passes for the Auto Stunt Show. We were WOWED! This is a great show and it's going to be a crowd pleaser for sure! We also did WWTBAM and I ended up in 4th place!

Tuesday evening we enjoyed our dinner at the YACHTSMAN STEAK HOUSE. The food was excellent as usual as was our favorite server. We headed back over to DTD for some shopping and ice cream for dessert.

I guess my favorite part of the trip was heading over to SSR (we stayed there on points last July) and did an add on over there. The incentive for an additional 100 points into my use year just put us over the edge. We had to wait until today to start the paper work since we have an April use year. We also renewed our APs with our DVC discount. I really appreciate that perk!

All in all it was a fantastic trip. The weather could not have been more perfect. This was not a commando park trip for DH and myself. We don't do that anymore. We go to enjoy the resorts and grab some park time as the mood suits us. We were even able to grab some rocking chairs along SAB and read in the shade for a few hours!

I am heading back in June to stay at VWL on a Friends ONLY weekend with no spouses or SOs. I can't wait for that.

I really love the flexibilty that DVC offers and my ony regret is that we didn't do it YEARS ago.

Great trip report. Glad to hear good things about BCV. We will be there in June! :cool1:

I love reading trip reports. The next best thing to being there. Thanks.

Absolutely loved your trip report  !!!!!!!!!

It reminded me of my and DH's many trips to WDW, each year, since the MK opened in 71'

He has since passed...and we had no children...but I still go, now to my DVC, every year, sometimes twice, where the "Magic Never Ends" :lovestruc

I have soooo many wonderful memories @ WDW.. :cloud9:

Thanks Again :grouphug:

sounds like you had a wonderful time!

Thanks for sharing. I am looking forward to trips like yours, but with small ones, they are probably a few years off still lol

I enjoyed reading your report, glad you had a wonderful time!

Sounds like a wonderful trip.

It's great to hear more details on the BC shop. Do you remember the types of sandwiches offered at all? Can you refill your own mugs?

Congratulations on your new points! :cool1:

Thanks for taking the time to post the details of your trip so we can all live vicariously through reading it. I'm glad to hear they put a mug refill station in the store, since having to walk all the way to B&C to refill mugs was the reason we never used them at BCV.

And congratulations on the Add-On! :cool1:

It seems you spent more than one evening at DTD. How long did it take you to get there and did you use Disney Trans.? We will be at BCV next month and we usually end our evenings at DTD so Im a little concerned about the travel time. I havent decided whether we will rent a car or not.

Thanks, everyone, for your comments! I always enjoy reading trip reports, so I figured I would repay the favor. The sandwiches offered were ham/turkey on rolls and not traditional bread. They offered clam chowder soup daily. There is also an area for baked goods and an iced dessert that name escapes me right now. It begins with a "G". The mug refill station is self serve with Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Apple Juice, Cherry Coke (NO root beer). There is also Iced Tea available and coffee, of course. There are a couple of Bistro tables available for eating and they added tables and chairs to the outside "porch area" which made it nice!

Thanks for the Congrats on the add on! My grown kids are excited, too :Pinkbounc

We never used Disney transportation. Alas we always rely on a rented car. This way we never have to worry about getting to a PS on time, we can go to the grocery store whenever we run out of something, go visit a food court at another resort and even hit the outlet mall if we choose. Also, when the kids were small, we always seemed to visit the Urgent Care Clinic with an eye or ear infection.

We had to laugh, it was so crowded at DTD this past week, yet we were always in the right place at the right time. It seemed as if we would pull down a row and a car would be leaving. One guy even told us to "Follow me. I am leaving." and we snagged his spot.

We went to DTD via "Vacation Club Way" (FKA Community) past OKW and SSR and come up upon it from the "backside" as opposed to from the PI side.

Thanks for even more details on the BC shop.

Could the dessert be gelato?
