Well not a whole lot happens on this day .We traveled from Denali to a little town called Nenana home to the state of Alaska Railroad Museum. This is were we stopped to stretch are legs and visit the Museum which was like stepping back into the early1900's with the things they had on display their, pretty cool but I'm a guy and we like stuff like that.:cool1: Then it's back on the coach to Anchorage for lunch at the Sourdough Mining Company yes the korn fritters were good but the barbeque was okay at best. Then we went next door to the Alaska Wildberry products, nice touristy place then off to see more reindeer :).My wife was feeling under the weather and it was starting to get the best of her,I asked the coach driver if their was a drugstore close by as I didn't see any on the trip in.He told me I would never be able to get their and back before we had to leave. But he said he could and asked me what I needed and he would go get it for us,he didn't have to do this but he did when I got home I called and e-mailed the company he worked for and explained what he had done and I wanted to make sure his company knew how much we apprecaited it.When we pulled up to Hotel Alyeska I did not think it was that nice. When we got into the lobby and walked around the grounds what a nice surprize. The wife went up to the room to take her drugs and lay down before dinner,I grabbed my camera and went on a little hike around the place to scope it out. When I got back we went to dinner. They had us sit in a little dining area off the main area,it was nice but the service was slow and not to much to choose from on the menu. When the food final got to the table I expected more from such a high class resort.Honestly when you ask for something at a Disney resturant and you want something taken off the plate they do it,they don't tell you that's the way it comes just don't eat it.Very disappointed :confused3. O well tomorrow will be better :rotfl:.The wife went back up the room and turned in early and I grabbed my camera and tripod and tried some time lapsed photography.came out pretty good if I do say so my self.Well my throat is starting to tickle so I took some drugs and went to bed, want to be ready for tomorrow.

Ah, the travel days can be rough some times. Did you not stop at Bird Point?

I *LOVE* those corn fritters!!! :cool1:

Between you and Bobo912 you guys took and posted some awesome pictures.I could copy and paste your pictures and know one would be the wiser :rotfl:.I don't know how to post here?I am still going thru my pictures and processing them. Now after the third day all the mountain ranges and waterfalls look pretty much the same kinda hard to tell which is which :confused3.I have been going thru my pictures and will post pictures of the things that haven't been posted on here from Alaska which will be hard.I will add a link to a picture site so you can take a peek because of the limited amount you can post here.Nope didn't stop at Bird Point they didn't even mention it?

I just put what I thought were some interesting photos in a folder on phtotbucket and posted a link to the slideshow. I don't have the patience to post individual pictures. I hope someday to have more patience, but I'm not there yet. :)

Those were some very nice photo's indeed.Do you really want to see my picture of the same mountain :rotfl: That's what I'm going to do at Shutterfly but I plan putting up a few of the same pictures other people have only at a different angle of view

I definitely agree about Alyeska. The food is eh but the view from the mountain (and the skiing in winter!) is spectacular! The resort isnt exactly a 5 star when it comes to lower 48 standards, but its outta this world for Alaska.

(Stuck in Texas, hoping to get back to Alaska soon!)

I agree with you Clint. I believe that Alaska is not a place to go if you are a "foodie". It was very disappointing that all the salmon and fish was so poorly prepared.

Actually, we had some seafood at this crazy place just outside of Denali, big picnic table benches, super casual, called The Salmon Bake or something silly like that. Best food I had on my trip! Really delicious! And there's a little restaurant between the Alyeska and Girdwood called Jack Sprat, and the food there was really good! Excellent preparation & taste.

But yes, in general, Alaska is not known for the cuisine.

We also had dinner in Jack Sprats and our chef must have been having a BAD night. Salmon again was not only dry as a bone (even though I ordered rare) and also fishy tasting as in old fish. Disappointing for not only were the salmon running at the time of our visit but I was told after the meal our waiter was the owner. My wife had the halibat and not much better. We were so looking foward to our dinner after hearing such rave reviews previously. Oh well timing is everything and maybe the chef was out fishing.

Oh! I'm sorry to hear that. Half our ABD group ate there for dinner, and everyone was quite impressed. I guess everyone has off days, but that's really too bad.

Yes I agree. Well when I filled out the questionare from Disney I did stress that the dining and food was contracted out and is out of Disney's control on quality. ABD may have only so many choices and I'm sure much like everything Disney does alot of research has been done before the decisions are made.
