DH and I returned Saturday night from a 6-day WDW trip. I'll post a longer trip report when I have time. There were certainly more people in the parks than I recall from other early December visits, but ride times were still fairly short - 15-20 minutes for most. We did CP package at Rose and Crown, MVMCP on 12/7, Fantasmic package at Hollywood & Vine, and the behind the scenes tour at MK. Had a terrific time. Weather was fabulous - low 80's every day. If I can provide any info to anyone, I'd be happy to.

I'm interested to hear how you liked the MVMCP. I have read so much about it that's negative, I'm almost ready to just sell my tickets and forget it! I would like to hear at least a little something positive. Did you enjoy the party at all?

I wasn't as impressed with the party this year as in past visits, but if you haven't done it before you will enjoy it. I would recommend doing rides during the first parade as that one seems to draw a larger crowd. Head away from Tomorrowland, that was very crowded the 9th. See the shows, do a few rides, enjoy the parade and deffinitely watch Wishes. I love seeing the castle changing colors and the fireworks are beautiful. There aren't as many shows to see as they used to do, the crowds are a bit more then used to be, but if you haven't done it before you won't be comparing to "what used to be" as to what you see now. Relax, enjoy, and have fun.

Thanks for your response. I was beginning to wonder if I wasted money on tickets. I am taking my family to the MVMCP on the 17th, and I'm hoping that it won't be a total mob scene. We have never been before, so have nothing to compare it to, so I hope all goes well.

Sweet Maxine - we did enjoy MVMCP. I'm not sure how to judge how crowded it was. We chose not to try to do rides but to do the shows, parades, and other special things. We skipped the early parade because it is definitely more crowded. We got a good place to watch the first show in front of the castle about 15 minutes before it started. It was crowded around Main St. and the hub and the walkway to Tomorrowland for the fireworks, just because that's where everyone stands. We watched the second parade from Frontierland, and there were still good viewing spots to be had when the parade started, so I would recommend that location. The December 17 MVMCP is sold out, and the one we went to wasn't, so I'm sure there will be more people there for yours. Take Disneyfan1980's advice and try rides during the first parade, if you want to do rides. Otherwise, just have a plan for what shows you want to see at what times, and enjoy the atmosphere. We didn't try to get our pictures taken because that just isn't a big deal to us. One tip I've heard for avoiding the lines for this (there are only two locations) is to head for the location at the back of the park as soon as possible and get it taken care of early.

As I just posted on the MVMCP thread, I had an absolutely wonderful time this year!! I was thrown off by all the negative comments as well, but figured I'd go anyway and I am SOOO glad I did. Be ready for crowds but don't let them decieve you, because with a little timing and luck, you can get a lot done and have a wonderful, magical time!! I hope you do!!

I've only heard good things about the MVMCP. Just this past weekend the Disney World during the Holidays special was on the Travel Channel and they highlighted the MVMCP - especially the parade and special production of Wishes. It looked like so much fun, I hope to try it some day!
