Baby Thor isn't coing today

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie. I'm sorry you are so disappointed.

It won't be much longer, though. Really it won't. Hang in there, you will have your baby soon.

Sonya the same thing happened to me with Danny. We couldn't get him to come out at all. I told everyone that he was scared of his big brother. Turned out to be true. John does tend to take his frustrations out on Danny.

Thor will come when he is ready and life will be the best it can be!

Sorry I know you are disappointed this wasnt the day. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed he wants to pop out soon. I was induced 3 out of 4 times (darn kids just dont wanna come out) and my dr had me maxed on pitocin--they had to break my water each time to get my labor going.

I am sorry that you had such a disappointing experience--but it will happen--and then you will know how "worth it" this whole experience has been!

Sonya, I sort of know how you feel. I was never induced but with my first son I was nine days late (after my due date) which seemed an eternity. I remember truly feeling I was NEVER going to have him!!!! You know, come to think of it, as I wait for him to come home this morning from college.....I'm always waiting for him!!!! :jester:

Good luck and remember.....you will be holding little Thor before you know it!!! {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}

(((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) to you Sonya and please, please please DON"T feel like a failure!....I speak from exprience!...with my 3rd child I had more false labors than I could count! I felt like I woud know when it was time but I didn't! Thor will be here soon enough! so glad to hear he was kicking up a storm!

Take care and good thoughts coming your way!

Each baby has his / her own time schedule - before and after delivery - relax and SLEEP!

Sonya,

On May 9, 1997...it was Mothers Day weekend. I gave birth to my son, Sean. I had the abrupted placenta with him-( c-section).

It was a wonderful Mothers Day on Sunday.

Maybe Thor wants to wait until next Sunday.

Don't expect him to bring you a present though! LOL!
You will get the greatest gift anyone can have. A healthy baby!

Good luck and hang in there....he will be here soon.

{{Hugs}} Sonya. You're right, your body isn't ready to give birth yet. I know it's hard when you've psyched yourself up into thinking baby Thor would be coming. Don't worry he won't stay in there forever! On a side note, it's amazing how many women go through preterm labor only to deliver on time or late!

Oh Sonya, hang in there. The last few days are the toughest. I enjoyed being pregnat, but by the end, I just wanted it out, so I know disappointed you must feel. Take comfort in the fact that he is healthy, doing well, and he will be here in no time(even if it seems like forever).

My OB group did not believe in inducing unless there was a medical reason to do so. My first came 16 days after the due date, number 2 came 10 days after, my third came 8 days after, and number 4 came on the due date (very rare.) People always told me I was nuts to wait so long, I should force the doctor to do something, etc.. I just trusted God and my doctors. The due date is just an estimate anyway. A normal pregnancy can be from 38 to 42 weeks. What did people do in the "old days?" They just waited it out. BTW, I was blessed with 4 healthy BIG babies. Hang in there and enjoy your last few nights of sleep!!!

(((HUGS))) I'm so sorry, Sonya. But baby Thor will come when he is ready, right? You take care of yourself in the meantime. It really won't be much longer now.

Sonya, the same thing happened to me with my first baby. I was in the hospital getting induced because I had gallstones that were giving me severe attacks, so for 4 days they tried to induce, but to no avail. I kept saying to myself that they wouldn't send me home without my baby, but they did! It was really hard to leave, like you said, walking by those little bassinets. I finally had my DD a week later, after being induced daily (with prostaglandin gel), but not having to stay at the hospital until she was definitely ready to come out! Good luck, Thor will be here soon!!:D

How are you feeling today? I actually know someone that says that she went into labor by sitiing on the washing machine or dryer!

Thor is in a good place. Take care of your self and rest.

Sonya,
Love the story about the shoes. You must put that in the baby book! My DD was 9 days late and everyone called me constantly saying "where is that baby?" making me a nervous wreck. My doctor finally planned to induce, but the night before that, I went into natural labor and had a really fast delivery. I always kid my DD that I had to say "I'm having your birthday party without you" to get her to come out. Babies have their own schedule and Thor just wants to hang out inside you a little longer while he gets stronger. Hang in there, maybe Thor is waiting for Mother's Day!

I know how disappointed you must have been not having Baby Thor when you thought you would.

I was induced for (both sons actually) but with DS#1, I was supposed to have him on June 26th but baby didn't come out till June 27th. DS didn't care that I had a pitocin drip, gel & had my water broken! Actually, once my water was broken, it was just a few hours later that things started moving along. I was induced nearly one month early due to High Blood Pressure. I was so disappointed he didn't arrive on June 26th like we had thought he would. I was so excited about the baby coming, that I was upset that the doctors couldn't do anything to make him come that night afterall.

I know you were just planning on holding him tonight but don't worry, you will, in God's time. As nearly everyone has posted, make sure you get a good night's sleep because your sleep patterns/habits will change as soon as Baby arrives!

Good luck & we'll all be thinking of you Sonya!!
