Baby shower gifts?

My brother and his wife are having a baby this summer so I have been looking for stuff.



I found this online today and I thought it was really cute!
I have a Curious George tin that I found ( she is doing the nursery in Curious George) and I will add in all of this.

My favorite gift I received, besides the big things like the stroller and stuff, I LOVED baby clothes. I knew I was having a boy and I loved all the little baby boy clothes I received.
I love the curious George idea. And what a great way to do the nursary.

All that stuff you had was neat but it would be alot of explaining. My favourite gift was...my girlfriend bought a stuff animal dressed it in an outfit ,undershirt, hat , socks , shoes, bib and then wrapped that in a recieving blanket and then another blanket with a soother attached to I think. My be you could dress curious george. It was adorable.

favorites-savings bonds (they never outgrow them ) and a huge cool mist humidifier (you never need one until the middle of the night when everything is closed).

saw a cool thing the other day-"a backpack for baby"-it was similar to those picnic backpacks (had thermal area for bottles to keep hot/hot, cool/cool), slots and containers for powdered formula, wipes, baby meds....and the front unfolded to become a LARGE changing table pad (non moisture absorbant and wipeable). loads of room for diapers, blankets and the like. and it looked like a normal backpack-so noone would feel wierd wearing it.

i thought it would be great to have for outings as well as an all in one type of thing to leave with baby at grandparents.

honestly, alot of the "products" i got as gifts got tossed-i had my own brands i wanted to use. one thing i do always include as a gift-a dimmer switch for "dad" to put on nursery wall. it is so much nicer to be able to walk into a room and turn up the light a tad to check on/change baby-when it's a standard switch they just end up startled and get upset (it's also nice in the middle of the night when your half blind yourself).

I always give a book for a baby shower gift. Normally I give a stuffed animal and an outfit (in a larger size) and/or some layette items.
