It's been a week or so since we had one of these threads....

I was looking at the hospital website from our old town to see who had babies and you can usually find some really um, unique names there. One family named their little girl Brianna--which isn't all that unique, but then gave her the middle name Ann. All I can think of is Roseanne Roseannadanna--Brianna Annadanna. :lmao:

The only Brianna I know pronounces her name with the *ah* sound so Bri-ah-na Ann sounds okay to me :)

We recently attended a car boot sale in a not so nice area ( not sure if you have car boot sales in the US?) and heard man shouting on his little girl - Ikea!!!! Hope it's not a case of name the baby after the place of conception...eughhh...

You tell me what a car boot sale is, and I'll tell you if we have them here.

It's an organised event (usually in a field or car park) where people sell things out of the boot (or trunk) of their car - generally old unwanted household items (we were selling old books, CDs/DVDs, electrical equipment etc) but some people are 'professional' sellers i.e. sell things from house clearances etc.

Same for me.

I was in L&D with one other lady.... I had Lucas James, she had Michael Scott.

One of the nurses said something, jokingly, about how they'd been dead lately (we were the first patients in a few days) and they were hoping for a nice weird name to talk about :rotfl:

That would be similar to a flea market here.

I know of someone that named their son ESPN-YES it was after the TV station.

About 10 years ago, DH and I were at Astroworld and stopped to ask a worker a question. Her name tag read "Washateria." :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: I'm sure it was pronounced wash-uh-tuh-REE-uh, but come on! After she was far away, I said to DH, "I wonder if she was named for her place of conception or her place of birth?" :confused3

I have saw someone named Sh!thead before. Pronounced sh-e-tead. Also saw someone who named there twins Lemonjello and Orangejello. No kidding!!!!!!!!!!

I ahve heard that name before. It was pronounced Le Mon Gel Oh. :rolleyes1

I used to work with a girl, whose girls were Chablis, Champagne, and Vodka. I always figured it was her drink of the night, when she conceived. :rotfl:

Ron Howard (you know, Opie??) named his three kids after where they were conceived. His oldest, Bryce Dallas Howard, was conceived in, you got it, Dallas.

Same for me.

Well.... that sounds like One Tree Hill meets The Office :)

there's a family that name all their kids after designers. they have Chanel, Armarni, Deisel and Cartier

Lord.. My brother's name is Michael Scott and you can't imagine the amount of crap he has gotten about it ever since 'The Office' premiered.

I told him to enjoy his notoriety! ;)

Yeah, I know. :headache:

It was originally Lucas Aaron but that is a long, sordid tale....

So it got switched to James (which is my brother's name).. :goodvibes

He was already Lucas to me, though, so there was no way I was changing the first name when the poo hit the fan in my DH's family.

OMG...I was at Disneyland on Wed. My friend and I were sitting on a bench and the young girl (maybe 10) across from us had on her Birthday button. Her name was Yusdlekis. Seriously? How the frig is that pronounced??:confused3

I was at the doctors office the other day and the woman that took my blood was Cleopatra. Not too crazy, but still not one you hear every day!
