I've been a teacher and as a teacher and friend of other teachers, let me tell you we have come across some stunners. Sometimes I think the mothers must still be under the influence of painkillers when they name the poor children. But I've heard, "I liked the way it SOUNDED" often enough to realize that some people don't give a rat's hiney what a word MEANS, provided they like the way it flows off the tongue. Are there some exaggerations? Sure. But sadly, some of the horrible names you hear that crack you up are from people who are telling the gospel truth.
Well.....You would THINK someone would be too "stupid" to name their kid Washateria, but I saw the name tag myself.I've been a teacher and as a teacher and friend of other teachers, let me tell you we have come across some stunners. My son's name is Joby, not that strange but I don't hear very often. It's an organised event (usually in a field or car park) where people sell things out of the boot (or trunk) of their car - generally old unwanted household items (we were selling old books, CDs/DVDs, electrical equipment etc) but some people are 'professional' sellers i.e. sell things from house clearances etc.

A boy in my 6th grade class was named Thunder and he had an older brother named Storm. Their last name was just plain, like Johnson or something.
