Baby formula in carry-on

I'm not sure what forum to ask this question, but I'll try here. We are traveling with our 8 mth DGD and we need to take formula for her in our carry-on for the flight down to Orlando. We need to know if we are permitted to take it in powdered form or liquid form and how much we are permitted to take in our carry-on bag. Does the container need to be sealed? And if we take powder, can we take bottled water to mix it with?

If you are not able to answer these question and you know where I can get the information I need please post who I should ask. We were going to contact our local airport to find the restrictions but I'm not even sure who to ask there.

You are allowed to take liquid baby formula through security in reasonable amounts given the duration of your trip. Powder can be taken in any quantity and mixed with water obtained past the checkpoint.

You can take as much powdered formula as you want.

You can take premade bottles with you, but you can't take bottled water. You can buy bottled water once you get through the check point.

Just remember to give yourself plenty of time to make it through security.

When I took the pre made 8 oz bottles of liquid I was fine leaving out of Columbus, Ohio but when I left from Orlando security was giving me a problem. The gentleman wanted me to open it and I told him I wasnt. I told him on TSA website it said it was allowed and then pointed out to him that if I opened it I would have to use it in 2 hrs and he backed down and let me go.

I've done both. It's a hassle to take the premixed bottles especially if you are flying out of a smaller airport without all the equipment to screen the liquids without opening them. I thought they it would be easier, it wasn't. On the return flight we took powder and bought bottled water after security and also got it from the flight attendants on the plane. They were always more than happy to do that for us.
