This is my DD in my Maya Wrap Ring Sling at 7 Weeks old. She lived in this while we were at WDW for 9 days in 07. Then again 11 months later for 8 days. The great thing about the ring sling was being able to adjust it quickly for different situations. I now use it sometimes more as a seat belt to keep a wiggly toddler securely on my lap at church. It is very versatile. I also use a Hotsling they are available at Target so theoretically I guess you can try it on.
I have had several other baby carriers over the years a hip carrier from one step ahead, a snuggli soft carrier a baby Bjorn a Playtex sling. I HATED them each and every one. My favorite was the Maya wrap but I use it less now because DD is 18 months and 33 lbs and 33 IN tall.

Maybe I worry too much , but the wraps and slings scare me. I am afraid the baby might fall out. I am planning on using the carrier alot. i want to take it to disney and all of my son's hockey games. Have any of you had any accidents where the baby wasn't secure or slipped out? i saw some body wraps being worn on the mom's back. so that should mean they are safe enough for hands free carrying. But what if they are not tied right, I am worried. Am I just being silly?

As for the type of carrier I would choose from your list, my fave is the Beco. I have tried about 4 of the ones on your list, and it is my fave! I think it is very comfy and easy to put on. Good Luck!
