Baby Carrier on plane

Hi,

Do you think i will be allowed to wear a baby carrier with my baby in for take off?

Do babies have to be strapped in for take off?

On virgin they had orange lap belts for infants that had to be attached to your belt. I don't know whether they would allow a carrier but I would bet they insist on the belt.

you need to ask your airline but the answer will most probably be no. They are prohibited during take off, landing and basically anytime the "fasten your seatbelts" sign is on (FAA regulation as it appears)

While booster seats and harness vests enhance
safety in vehicles, the FAA prohibits passengers
from bringing these types of devices on airplanes
for use during taxi, take-off and landing.
They should be checked as baggage. Also,
supplemental lap restraints or “belly belts” are
banned for use in both airplanes and vehicles in
the United States.

Virgin let me keep mine on but I still had to put on the orange belt.

Having flown with a small baby several times the answer is no! If you fly with a UK airline you will be given a lap strap that you must wear whilst the seatbelt sign is on. If you fly with a US airline, no lap strap you just hold them on your knee. Is it a baby bjorn type carrier or a sling. If it is BB I can tell you it wouldn't be comfortable anyway, I always strap my kids in when we have landed so I can be "hands free" when I get off the plane, it is always uncomfortable sitting there with them strapped in waiting to disembark.
