Baby Booted from Burger King Over Bare Feet

The positive - it saved the family from a horribly fattening meal. :thumbsup2

The negative - they probably went to Friendlys and ate an even more fattening meal, with ice cream for dessert. :lmao:

Seriously, the manager will probably be looking for a job really soon. I don't like his chances of finding one. If you fail at this, what's left?

If only they would ban people from sitting their baby's butts on the counters or stand them on the counters. But bare feet? Just silly. Probably a power hungry post adolescent fast food manager. :lmao:

I admit I don't like it when babies are out in public with bare feet. Socks or soft shoes for me please. I can't explain why but I really don't think it is right for anyone to be out in public without at least some kind of foot covering. I can't tell you how many people I see let their kids (walkers) run around without shoes on.

I think its silly. But at what age should the cut off on bare feet be in the BK?

Walking? I know it could be iffy with a toddler, but I am pretty sure not many 6 month olds walk!

On a side note, I had a woman ask me where ds's shoes were when he was about 6 months and riding in a stroller at the mall. Um...they are a fashion accessory at that age not a safety issue. MYOB, lady!:rotfl2:

They should have put shoes on the baby and taken the diaper off. Their policy doesn't say anything about diapers.;)

I have a hard time believing this is true but if it is the manager is an idiot.

I don't see why a baby needs a foot covering when it isn't walking yet. My DD will be 6 months old next week, she's not even crawling yet. Her feet are cleaner than her hands, what's more; she always has her fingers in her mouth.

Sometimes if we're out, Lucas doesn't have socks on. If I don't think he'll be out of his carseat, I don't put them on because he gets hot in there. He's usually sweaty when I pull him out.

If my 2month old's feet offend you, I'm sorry, but it's a bit ridiculous.
I can hardly keep socks on his feet when I want them there anyway! :rotfl: (he's a big kicker.. and thinks it's a game to kick his socks off and watch me put them back on. little stinker. :lovestruc)

Baby feet are the cutest! It boggles the mind how they could be offensive.

At DD's daycare, the new game is "footsie". Two babies in bouncy chairs facing each other kicking their feet and babbling away. It's really cute. I put some socks on DD this morning because it was cooler, but once we got to daycare and she started playing footsie, the socks lasted about 5 seconds. :rotfl:

We went out to eat last night, and DD didn't have anything on her feet. It's August. It's hot. Why should she wear socks?

I don't know about the age but I do believe that it is a state law here---No shirt, no shoes, no service.

If yet to be thrown out anywhere with any of my babies shoeless and I'm in the same state as you.. I am NOT buying my kids shoes til they start walking there is no point. As for socks in the summer.. who wants to wear socks in the summer? Furthermore do people really think a thin piece of plastic really does anything to keep germs away when your wearing flip flops? :confused3 Yet they get all offended with baby feet?

My baby is super tiny, no shoes would stay on her. At 7pm tonight, it was still 111 degrees in my back yard. I'm not putting socks on her. No one has said anything to me.

However, I did have one grumpy CM at Disney World say something to me about DD2 on our last trip. She was exactly 12 mos and couldn't walk, yet. She either stayed in the stroller or was held the whole time. I brought little soft soled sandals with us (she, also, had tiny feet and was still wearing 0-6mo Robeez), but I had left them in the stroller. Anyways, he seemed to be having a bad day and asked where her shoes were because you weren't supposed to be at DW without shoes. I said they are in my stroller, I can go get them, but she doesn't walk, yet. He said, no, that's fine, but next time put them on her. It was July, so it was hot, no one else ever said anything to us about the shoes.

Most pediatricians will tell you that wearing shoes when babies are cruising will not allow the muscles in their feet to develop properly. My ped recommended not using shoes until they were walking, and then only when necessary to protect their feet.

We had a CM at (then) MGM tell us back in 2000 that then 8-month-old DS had to have shoes on in his stroller. Problem was, no way would that boy leave shoes or socks on. I can't tell you how many shoes and socks I lost because he would pull them off and drop them out of the stroller. We lost a brand new Reebok somewhere in Epcot.

I think baby feet are adorable. :lovestruc Adult feet, not so much.

Yep. I agree. Not that I would make a big deal over it, but the guy was just following the law or rules.

I agree. Ban Flip Flops. ;)

It's fine when they stay in the stroller or car seat, but once they are on the ground or on the booths- the shoes need to be on! I hate seeing walking kids in bare feet in restaurants. It's a health code violation and just icky to boot. I always wish somebody would say something to those parents. If a health inspector saw it the restaurant could be in real trouble (note, I'm talking about toddlers + here, kids who are walking around.) The other day I saw a 7year old in bare feet a restaurant. It was all I could do to bite my tongue.

I have this issue all the time at work. I work at an inverted coaster and people will remove their shoes to ride (which is fine.) If the line is short they will run back through the line and leave their shoes in the cubbies. I am forever asking people to put their shoes on.

We adopted DD at 10 months of age. She had the tiniest feet you have ever seen. I had to buy the very smallest of crib shoes (the ones that are usually too small for newborns) and then could only find a few that would stay on with socks. Even when she was 3 years old, she could still wear crib shoes meant for 12 month olds. :rotfl2: She was still wearing toddler sizes until she was 6-7. My point is, at 6 months, I don't think there would have been a shoe on the market that would have stayed on her teeeeeeeny feet. When I took her out, I did put pretty socks on her, but that's often as good as it got until her feet grew a little and I could find shoes to fit them. A 6 month old is still an infant and infants typically do not wear shoes. No shoes, no shirt, no service???? Well, there was no need for Burger King to deny the baby service as I'm pretty sure she did not want to order a Whopper with cheese. :lmao:

Yeah I'm not too big on those kind of rules.. Guess my kids are going to grow up into criminals :scared1:
