Just found out last weekend that my best friend is pregnant! She is due October 28 (so I have some time) but I want to make her a baby book (she is not crafty) for her shower. I need page ideas. They find out the sex late May so I will do sex specific pages, but I figured "first bath" and such are pretty gender neutral so I can start work on them now.

I would like to do at least 20 two-page layouts. So I have-

sonogram page
maybe growing belly- if she takes those pics of herself
birth/ hospital pic
first bath
first food
bottle/breastfed pages
first smile
first halloween (either right after birth or nearly 1 year old)
first thanksgiving
first christmas
first new years
first easter
first birthday
summer vacation
couple general day pages

Any other suggestions? Anyone willing to show me your layouts? I would like to steal some ideas! ;)

I am thinking of maybe doing an First year ABC book as well, but I am missing a few letters.

You definitely should do coming home from the hospital page/first nap or sleep in the crib/meeting the grandparents pages(you can do a 2 page layout and include space for each set of grandparents)/nursery page.

You should definitely include a layout for the baby shower unless you're making a separate album for that one.

a-APPLE/AUNT
i-ICE CREAM CONE/ICE
k-KITE/KITTEN/
l-LOVE/LACE
m-MAN/MOM/ME
q-QUILT/QUIET
u-UNDERWEAR/UNCLE/US
y-YOUNG/YOU

Hope these help.

Some ideas

This is the album I made for my BFF when she had her first child:

(When I moved it over from another photo-sharing site, the order got all messed up and I never did fix it, but you get the idea.)

She's actually pregnant with baby #2, a boy this time, so I've got to get cracking on his album! I'm going to keep mostly the same topics, but it'll be fun to do blue pages instead of pink!

This is the book I nearly finished this weekend for my niece Sophie, she is 10 weeks old. I am doing another 4 pages, hopefully this week. It will be 54 pages when it's all done.

(The 4 I'm adding are first birthday, 4 generations, cousins, and something for fall which will go near September - either pumpkins or leaves).

Great ideas guys! Thanks.

Is there a thread showing the MischiefManaged book? I would love to see all of the final pages!

If you click on the thread in post #8 you will see the pictures in a film strip in the first post. Just click on the film strip and you will see all the pics. :thumbsup2

I would include first tooth, first steps and fingers/toes pages.

I made a page that let me add a photo for each month next to each other. That is kind of fun to see them getting bigger in each photo. I added some journal spots so I can talk about what new changes happen in each month. It is the one thing I have managed to keep up with and I think that a mom would appreciate it! :)

Great albums ladies.:goodvibes Kind of wish I knew someone who was having a baby so I could scraplift your layout ideas.

I did an album for my cousin that had a two page layout for ultrasound photos, two page layout for each month and then one for one year/12 months.

I used the same layout for each two page spread just changed up the papers a bit, but I picked pink and green for the entire book and all the papers coordinated so I didn't have to think much.

You can make a title page at the front and on the last page do a layout for 12 small photos so they can show how much the baby changed over the first year. With my son I sat him in the same rocking chair with the same stuffed toy every month.

On the left page was a space for a 5x7" and on the right four 4x4 photos. That way they didn't have to cut/crop the one on the left and on the right they just had to make one cut.

It was pretty easy. I put it together in a weekend.

I have a sketch of the layout if you'd like a copy just drop me an email. I would post it here but I'm new and it won't let me post links yet.

Hope that helps,

A "When I was born" page - fill in the blanks about things in the news, who was president, what were prices like, what was popular in movies, top song on the charts, etc. It's neat for people to have when they're older.
