Baby at Disney

Congrats!!!!

My dd will be 4 months when we take her in Nov. I was on the fence about it, but we booked the trip after reading on the dis that its pretty easy taking a baby. I'll be sure to post how things go!

Congrats!! I would definitely go when the baby is 4-6 months rather than 1 year. BUT every kid is different. We went last year when our son was 4 months old and he was so easy. I worried too, but it worked out great. He was content in the carrier, nursing or looking at the scenery. Very easy! A 1 year old is more mobile, eats more, may not nap as easily, teething?. I say teething because this year our son was 18 months when we went and his mouth decided it was time to pop 3 molars through! Fun times! So IMO, a baby is easier. :thumbsup2

Congrats!!!
We took DS at 4 months and then again at 9 Months and it was pretty easy both times. We are trying to plan another trip and DS will be 20-22 months and I'm a little scared :) He is a very opinionated active little boy. Hopefully I'll be saying how easy he was after our next trip! GL!

Congrats. I find it easy to take an infant to disney or any age really. I have taken my kids at all ages as young as 2 months and up. I am currently due the beginning of Nov and I have 2 tickets I need to use up before they expire so me and my DD are going back around the end of Nov or beginning of Dec. I breastfeed my babies and babywear too. Makes it so much easier baby in the wrap and food on demand when ever baby is hungry. Don't have to stop to take a break to feed baby either.

4-6 months is actually a great age. We went with both of ours when they were 5 months, so I have some experience here. No, they won't really notice anything (though our oldest did perk up a lot at the Nemo ride into the Seas Pavilion), but they're also super easy at this age. Don't need solids yet so only have to worry about breastfeeding or bottles; I have experience with each as only my youngest was still BFing at that age--so easy to do at the parks and no clean up. And at that age, if you are BFing, you're both well established into a good pattern so it's not as difficult as it was earlier on. Get yourself a good carrier like the Ergo, and he or she will be perfectly content at that age just to travel on you and nap on you while you're on the go. As far as sleeping, USUALLY they're sleeping through the night at that age or down to one feeding a night if you don't mind some mild sleep coaching. Truly, it's so easy at that age versus waiting until they're older babies or toddlers. Otherwise, I think about 2.5 yrs starts becoming a good age again. 6 months to 2.5 yrs was a bit rough for us in terms of travel.

Kudos to you all!!!! DD won't be going till she's older. I assume we'll have more kids by then. I just don't think taking an infant to WDW is ideal. In fact, I don't want to have to use a stroller.

We went when my son was 3 and our baby was 3 months. It was very easy. I wore her a lot and had a good double stroller. We used a stroller fan to keep her cool and it was great. I think younger is easier they eat and sleep and aren't mobile and have no opinions.

We took our son at 8 months and he was wonderful as well.

My daughter will be 20 months when we go and it's my most concerning age yet!

When we took our kids for the first time, we had a 3 yr old, 20 mon, and 3 mon. It was so easy and the ages were great! They will be 4/2.5/13 mon on this trip... More opinions... Should be interesting....

first off congrats! I also just recently found out we are expecting. :) I am 8 weeks 3 days. By the time we go back (next Oct) baby will be about 5 1/2 months old. I plan on bringing my ergo and wearing the baby most of the time. :) I'm really excited! I'm pretty sure our 3 yr old will be more trouble than the baby lol!
