Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

Great as usual. I swear I have been to disney over 20 times and I still cannot believe all of the things that I miss. Thank you so much for taking pictures of the things some of us just pass by.
I have a few of the ornamentss that were in the picture. Joe gave me one last year that said our Christmas together. It should have read... Will you marry me.. :rotfl2:

After the day at Animal Kingdom, the boys abandoned me, so I consoled myself with some DTD window shopping.

Then I went in search of some Christmas decorations at the Contemporary and the Polynesian, but they didn't have much up. Everyone had stuff up in the gift shops, but not much else throughout the resorts as of that date.

disneypics238.jpg

disneypics240.jpg

It was getting late, so I headed back to Pop. I'm thinking the boys weren't there when I got back. I'm thinking I was snoring away when they came in. I'm pretty sure Trent put his ear plugs in, and Drew covered my head with a pillow.

Now for the "goodest" part of tonight's report - We only have one full day of school left, and then a half day on Friday. Tomorrow we have our parties, and Friday Santa comes and we have brunch and then go home. When the bell rings, there will be running and screaming and flailing of arms as people race for the doors (looking something like this:dance3: ) with the excitement of two full weeks out!

That's how the teachers leave anyway. We're not sure how the kids get out.

Thanks for all the feedback on the last few pictures. How nice it was for declansdad to notice that I was caught in a picture.

Not.

Naahh...just joking. Trent insisted I get in this one of me, so I obliged. Now I've met my quota for the next six months. Maybe by the summer trip I'll be ready to be in another one. I do have a hidden MeMom picture, though, that Drew took when I'm standing behind the rhino at Rafiki's Planet Watch. That could appear someday when you're least expecting it.

great update as usual. and the pics too.

i swear i think i'm following erica around these boards tonight!!!!!

oh, my gosh....i didn't even realize you went back to disney world for christmas! i always look at people's subject lines to see if they have an update because i don't have time to read the thread every single time i log on and i just assumed you were having chatter over here about a future trip or something. i'm so behind!!!! what page does this christmas trip start on???

I know I've missed out on so much lately, too, because time constraints don't allow us to read every episode of every trip of every good family that's on here. I'd like to read so many that sound interesting from the titles, but right now I don't dare open any more. It's all I can do to keep up with the ones I am following along on and be a good follower.

We went just before Thanksgiving - just Trent, Drew, and me. We had fun, but we wish Jill had been able to go, too. Her work was just too, too crazy at the time, so I'm really looking forward to going back with her next week. This time we're flying, so about the time we get going good, it'll be time to come down. Some Christmas decorations were up last time, but not all that are there now, so I'm hoping to get many more good pictures to share.

Do you all just love VandyFan's castle picture? You've got to see it in real life, too. It is just beautiful. The lights make that huge castle seem so elegant and delicate.

Okay, a few more pictures, because I'm just about finished with this chapter, and the next chapter begins next week.

A Pop picture as I headed out the next morning.

disneypics242.jpg

I really didn't have a big plan. I wanted to see big Christmas trees, so I thought I'd start with POR and POFQ and get two really quickly, but neither of them had their big trees up. They had the gift shops decorated and some poinsettias, etc. scattered around. The guy at POFQ said it would be a couple more days before the big trees went up, so it made me even more appreciative of Pop Century already having theirs up.

Anyway, I just walked around clicking away, and here are a few of the ones that I hope are different from the ones I put up from the summer or October trips. Scott, you're POR this next time, right? These are for you!

THANK YOU!!!

30 days I will be there. :woohoo: the pics are gorgeous.

More great pics MeMom. Pooksma is counting down the time until tomorrow as well. Except she is going in leave to finish her Masters.

MeMom - your pics have a way of making feel that I STILL havent been to Disney World! Especially the one at Animal Kingdom! I was there last week and still havent seen some of the things in your photos!

I too am sorry about your friend who died. But thank God that you will get to see him again. :goodvibes

I hope you guys have an INCREDIBLE trip!!!
Can I get in your suitcase?? I can meet you at the airport ;)

Your picture is fabulous and will be printed out and posted on the wall where I have my scrapbooking stuff for a happy moment when I need it. You can totally come along. Meet us at BNA on Christmas Day and don't forget your earplugs because there is a vicious rumor going around that Memom snores:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: ! Everyone have a wonderful holiday. I don't know that I will be on here before we leave. I hope Santa is good to you all and doesn't hold it against you that you are friends with me and Memom!

Yes, we're giving All-Star Music a try. My heart belongs to Pop Century, but I wanted to try all the values to see for myself. I've stayed at All-Star Sports twice, and we'll be staying at Movies in March, but unless I feel something special when I stay there (as opposed to just visiting to take pictures, which I've done at all of them), we'll stick with Pop as our first choice. Of course, I have not stayed at any moderates or deluxes. I'm hoping I'll get to stay at least one night in all of them eventually, just to say I'm a seasoned Disney veteran. I'm too frugal by nature to spend more than necessary on a room, though, so most likely those stays will be one night added to the end of a value stay.

twob4him - I was just thinking about you the other day! I was thinking how fun it must be at your house with those girls so excited about Christmas. I can't wait to see Brooklynn in the midst of her presents...probably playing with a box while the present lays over to the side.

snowbell - Let's see a picture of your tree with the Disney ornaments. I've got a Charlie Brown tree with little kid ornaments, and I love it! By the way, your trip report is great!

declansdad - Lucky Ma! I wish I could be off to do my Master's, but that'll never happen. It'll be done online one class at a time whenever I can get to it. Maybe in time to retire?!?!

Glendamax - You've just gotta stop spending so much of your time socializing with your Dis fan club while you're on your trips so that you can get to all the stuff in Disney!!!

scottny - You'll be standing by that waterwheel at POR very soon. I always like to get a picture of that from a different angle. It lends itself to picture-taking, I think. I think it's kind of cool looking.

tinkgurl - Primeval Whirl was kind of jerky, but it didn't bother me. Trent hadn't been feeling so well, so he opted out of it. I can ride Space Mountain and ToT and every jerky ride except Rockin' Roller Coaster. There's something about the way that one pulls at me that makes my back and neck hurt. I think the last time I rode it I pretty much decided that that was it for me on that ride, but everything else is still a go for me, as of now.

carrieannie - If you do dress up your Jeep, put a picture on here. Surely you can get away with Disneying it up just a little!

punkin413 - Are you caught up yet? That's what you get for having such a life out there in the real world. You lose out on what's going on around here! :) I'm ready to put up the next few pictures, so here we go!

After resort hopping, in search of the big trees not to be found, I met Trent at MGM.

disneypics264.jpg

disneypics265.jpg

We've got reservations for PrimeTime in March. I'm going to try the fried chicken this time, I guess. Last time I ate here, I cleaned my plate so no one would fuss at me, and I was so stuffed I was sick. This time, I may have to resort to hiding things under my napkin, because I can't eat that much all in one sitting. I'm a grazer, not a gorger. I hope "Aunt Whoever-We-Get" will understand.

disneypics266.jpg

I have not eaten here yet. The flowers were very pretty.

disneypics267.jpg

disneypics268.jpg

I really thought MGM was really decked out nicely for Christmas.

disneypics269.jpg

disneypics271.jpg

disneypics272.jpg

We also watched Beauty and the Beast, and Trent recorded some of it on his phone and sent pictures to Kristi. She, like Jill, Brooklynn, and I, loves this show!

We ate lunch at ABC Commissary and just walked around randomly. I wanted to see Little Mermaid, but that didn't thrill Trent, so we skipped it. We thought about seeing Indiana Jones, but it was time for us to meet Drew at the hat, so we headed over there.

Here's the few from where I sat to wait for him.

disneypics273.jpg

I sat and watched a dozen little girls go nuts over all the Hannah Montana stuff. One mom was so involved with her daughter that she kept losing her son, Anthony. He was about six, and not a bit interested in staying with them. She would be talking to the daughter, and then every five minutes she'd look around and notice that Anthony had slipped off. Then she screamed, and I do mean SCREAMED, "ANTHONY!!!!", and Anthony would come out of hiding. Then, instead of holding his hand or making him somehow stay with her, she'd go back to the discussion with the daughter about choosing what she wanted. Guess what little Anthony did? Yep, he walked away again, and momentarily the blood-curdling scream would come again, "ANTHONY!" It was funny and stupid at the same time, because he really could have gotten lost. I know it happened at least five times while I sat there, so I wonder what their whole day was like. There was an older man sitting on the bench with me, also waiting for someone, and he kept shaking his head and pulling his ear and squirming. I think he had a few words for both Anthony and his mother, but he was nice and never said them. He just shook his head and squirmed, and then it was time for me to go. I hope Anthony is okay out there in this big world!

Drew thinks Lights, Motor, Action is awesome, so we knew we had to see that for him. He loves cars. We were so high up that we could see seven states. Naah, that's Rock City, but we could see three notable icons.

disneypics280.jpg

Drew filmed a lot of this and took a few pictures. If he could, he would have the job of driving these cars.

disneypics282.jpg

Then we decided to go to Tower of Terror. The wait wasn't long, so we got in line. Again, Trent didn't think his stomach could take it on this day, so he waited for us. Since his big surgery, he has a few days here and there where things just aren't quite right, and this was one of those days. Luckily, they are few and far between.

disneypics288.jpg

disneypics289.jpg

disneypics291.jpg

A picture of Drew taking a picture on the ride. I've been on this ride many times, and this was the best one I've ever had. At one of the times we were in mid-air, it seemed like it was longer than ever. It was very fun! I can't wait to take my friend back in March to ride it. She absolutely cracked up on this ride the last time she went with us.

disneypics293.jpg

Before some dinner, we watched these for a few minutes. The streets were packed!

disneypics297.jpg

disneypics295.jpg

disneypics296.jpg

Those were just a few snippets for the day. It was time to get in the long Pop Century bus line and head back to the room.

great update MeMom.

When are you leaving for the next trip? I still on getting the picture of our trees for you.

Thanks for the new update MeMom! The pictures are great! as usual,,,,My favorite part was of Anthony! That poor man mustv`e been stressed about the whole situation. I love how thoughtful you are to think about the little boy in the big real world, My favorite picture is of all the MGM icons from the car show! But we do get a MeMom sighting in the TOT picture! :rolleyes1

Have a very Merry Christmas with your family! And a safe flight down to WDW. and am looking forward to more pictures of that trip! :goodvibes especially (sp?) with Brooklynn. My godson is the same age,so its fun for me to see pictures of her also,,,(he only lives down the street too!!) Merry Christmas!! Carrie!! :santa:

Yep, we were definitely up in the nosebleed section. When we thought we were already packed like sardines, people were still coming in by the hundreds. I wonder what the full capacity number is for LMA.

We will have a very good Christmas. I'm hoping most people are doing their traveling at more reasonable times and will already be out of the airports. Since we're going right in the middle of Christmas Day, maybe it won't be so horribly packed. We won't be able to do much by the time we get there and get settled Christmas night. We plan to see some of the Magic Kingdom resorts and then we'll be ready to start our plans the next morning.

So, here's a little more from November as we wait:

We got up early and packed the car, because when we came back, we would no longer have a room at the inn.

It was off to Epcot at opening, and of course, we soared straight to Soarin'! We were right in the first ten minute group, so we were on and off in no time. That ride just makes me happy every time I ride it. I bet I say that on here every time I ride it, too.

disneypics300.jpg

By the time we walked out, the line was already way, way long!

Here's Epcot's tree from right before you go into World Showcase.

disneypics302.jpg

disneypics303.jpg

We could only go as far as Norway, since WS wasn't opened yet. I took a couple of pictures, because we were going to have to leave before it opened. I tried to talk Trent into staying for the day and I could drive home at night, but that was dashed immediately. Trent doesn't like my driving. He says I drive like a grandma. Anyway, since he was being a meanie, like Jill had been when she made me leave on our October trip, I shot of few pictures to make do. I knew I'd be back in December to spend a lot of time in Epcot.

Mexico. I love to look at the colorful wooden animals inside this pavilion, but everything was closed, of course. It gave me a chance to pay more attention to things like this, though.

disneypics305.jpg

The Vikings do Christmas, too!

disneypics309.jpg

disneypics310.jpg

This was kind of cool, I thought.

disneypics312.jpg

An early lunch (as soon as they opened) at Electric Umbrella. They have really good chicken sandwiches.

disneypics316.jpg

disneypics318.jpg

Shopping, of course. Trent got Kristi a Dory plush toy, a can of peach rings, and something else that I don't remember.

disneypics315.jpg

disneypics314.jpg

We had gotten Fastpasses for Test Track, so we rode that.

disneypics320.jpg

That's all we could do. We really did have to get on the road. Trent had to work the next day. I left the park nicely, saying good-bye to everything along the way...and walking very slowly.
Good-bye Mouse Gears.
Good-bye Soarin'. I love you!
Good-bye France that I can only see from across the lake.
Good-bye little bush.
Good-bye big silver ball/sphere/geodesic dome (choose one)!!! I'll be back.

None of those things said good-bye back to me.

Then it was time to do the evil deed - get in the car and go home. We already had the car packed from the morning, so we were homeless. I visited Everything Pop one more time to tell everything good-bye in there, too.

disneypics323.jpg

Good-bye tie-dyed cheesecake. Good-bye cute little Mickey wreath.

Then we left. :sad1:

disneypics321.jpg

I brought some new friends home, though.

disneypics324.jpg

They sat up in the back wondering what their new life in Tennessee would be like. Little did they know....they were coming home with one wild and crazy family!!!

Have a good last day of shopping before Christmas Eve. I'll probably get out one last time after while. Be safe!

:sad1: another trip finished on here. but :woohoo: your about to go again. If I don't speak to you have a great trip and have a great Holiday. Again tell Mickey I will see him in about 3 weeks.
The pics looked really nice.

Sounds like you have another great trip. Looking forward to hearing about the next one.

A while back you asked about our trees. Well here you go. The first is our main tree and the second is our fun tree with our Disney and Rudolf ornaments with a few other thrown in.

Have a great Christmas everone.

nice trees.

no tree here, not in the mood to get one this year.

Good-bye Mouse Gears.

This reminded me of Goodnight Moon! :cloud9:

I`m sure they were all saying goodbye in their own little ways....
I do that also with the castle..like we have our own private conversation,,,I`m happy to hear I`m not alone....:cutie:
