I hope everyone is staying cool. We're melting here and that's partly because it's been over 100* for like, two weeks now. A couple days ago our AC unit (that's 4 years old) started being unable to keep the house cool.

Finally DH consented to calling the people who put it in. Yeah, we have a busted duct in the attic and the unit is wasting cool air into the roof.

Yesterday the house got up to 80*!

The company is refusing to get in the attic until Monday when we're supposed to get a "cool" snap and it'll be in the mid- to upper-80's.

An A/C company that refuses to come fix the A/C? I'd be at a hotel until it got fixed. Ours broke while we were on vacation but my in-law's found out and fixed it for us. Otherwise, we would have not stayed home.

The issue is in the attic and the attic temp is reaching 140*. It's not safe for them to be up there. If they did go up and got in trouble, I'd have to cut a new skylight in the roof.

That did make it a bit of a challenge to eat the Mickey bar. She had to use her back teeth or cut it up with a fork. She ended up going with the fork because it was faster.

This is my first venture into any sort of social media since the FL trip....I have deactivated my FB account, have zero interest in being on there right now. I'm not feeling chatty overall but decided you guys are my closest on-line friends and wanted to drop a quick hi just so you know I'm basically ok and haven't fallen off the planet.

All I will say about FL is that the time spent visiting my dad was priceless and that's what counts, because NOTHING else went as planned. I'm just generally not at a good place right now, so I don't expect to be here very often, but I wanted you all to know there's nothing seriously wrong.
