Test Track is shutting down for a spell and being redone. It could be a good thing. We will see.

Exactly. Almost all of boys I've known and took care of over the years, would have no interest in prince stuff.

Ugh. Well hopefully it's just more of a loss of the GM sponsorship thing than anything else. Maybe they'll remove those logos and references and turn it into something more generic.:confused3 They just can't change it completely!!!!

GM is not going anywhere. A little info coaster-net.

The new Test Track attraction will allow guests to become car designers. Guest will create and design concept vehicles. The cars guest designed will then be put to the test as guest board a “SimCar” to test them out on a rigorous Track Circuit.

The new Test Track will also feature a new post-show experience where guests will be able to evaluate the car concept they designed. Guests will also be able to view all of the new and exciting concepts that Chevrolet is working on.

So what does this all mean? Well most importantly Test Track will be closed from April 2012 until Fall 2012, when Chevrolet will be celebrating their 100th anniversary. When the new Test Track re-opens it will “....enable General Motors to tell its story in new and exciting ways to millions of Guests from around the world and continue as the official vehicle sponsor of Walt Disney World Resort.”

It is likely that the physical ride system and track layout will remain exactly the same. The Test Track ride system is very complex and would probably require a much longer amount of time to rebuild. However rumors indicated that the new ride may incorporate RFID technology that will allow the ride to provide different shows to each rider based on how they design their vehicle.

As long as I can still go rip-roarin' around the outside speed track like my hair's on fire, I'll be happy. :goodvibes

Thank you! No matter how much things....well...suck :lmao:, I remind myself of those who have it worse. I also like to find humor is all situations. Like when my son was at a friend's house my husband and I joked that maybe we should call him and tell him not to come home until after he eats supper with his friend b/c there's not much to eat when he gets home. :rotfl2: OK so I have a strange sense of humor. He will be back to work soon.

I have a 'mean' sense of humor. That's why I messed with DD when she was coming out of anasthesia.

You ladies have been firing it up this morning!

I have to go to the beach this morning to my favorite Petites store. I need a new suit for a job interview. Problem is, I don't know which day this week I'll be called back for an interview, so I am thinking that I need to dress up every day this week. Or at least carry my suit, leave it at school, and wear acceptable makeup and not pull my hair back in a ponytail for a week.

I'm tired just thinking about it.

First off...

I'M ON MY HIGH SPEED INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:  :cool1:

I don't know if any of y'all read the little blog and news blurbs on the main DIS page, but Snow White's Scary Adventures is closing this spring!.....for good!!

.
I'm going to miss SWSA. I got 2 rides in in December and took as many pictures as I could. I'm going to miss it. I despise that they are putting the princesses back there, what will they put up at Town Square with Mickey?? Goofy? Daisy? Pluto? That's what I'm waiting to see. I'll be miffed if they fill that space with Duffy.

I actually liked Snow Whites Scary Adventure. I liked that it had a little scary factor and not another cutesy ride, if you know what I mean. Thankfully I had a girl who was never into princesses. Pirates of the Caribbean Land would be much more appealing for all of us.
Um... only if we can take home Jack and Will.... :rolleyes1

Wait, what??! What's going on with Test Track??!!

I think the whole new Fantasyland really is geared to girls. It seems (to me at least) that the boy-themed stuff is little more than a token effort to not shut them out completely but I agree, my boys would not have been into prince stuff. It's all about villains and pirates and action heroes! Oh well ...

.
It IS geared toward girls. There's no way around it. Even though they pulled Pixie Hallow from the plans, the mine train isn't enough to boy it up. :(

As for Test Track, yes, GM is out, but they're being replaced by Chevy. They were testing NexGen cars last year and they look sleek!

The track should remain the same, but I'm curious to find out more about the choose-your-own adventure portion of it.

Going to the beach to go shopping - that sounds funny to me. Hope you find what you are looking for and good luck with the interview.

I'd keep it with me.

Do you know any Mary Kay or Avon ladies that could shoot you some of the make-up samples so you don't have to carry your full make-up set?

I should have made myself more clear. I meant the car manufacturer is not going anywhere. Still will be a giant advertisement. :lmao: It might be a good change though.

Chevy is really pushing their "re-emergence" just like Chrysler is. I can't wait to see it all redone.

Even if I DO have to wait until 2014.

I don't know when I will get back. My son will be a senior next year and that can get costly. :lmao:

Tell me about it. I've relished in our trips because DD was still free! Now we've got to pay for her. It was nice and an easy sell to DH because she was included.

He told me to start putting back $50/paycheck to start saving for our next trip.

He also wants to go to MK for its 50th anniversary in 10 years. So while there are no trips on the horizon, I at least have a couple to look forward to.

Not sure when we'll get to see the new TT either. This summer (well, it would be closed anyway) we're doing our one day at the MK. I am hoping to do one more all-Disney family trip in 2013, but that is subject to so many factors.

I'd keep it with me.

I actually still have plenty of samples from when I sold Mary Kay. I usually keep some of it in my desk to freshen up, but never really do, lol.

BTW, ya'll, I paid my trip in full today! We cancelled the Universal portion, mostly because with me driving and being the leader, I want to stick with what I know.

We are staying at Coronado Springs, and I'm excited about that.

I love CSR!

It was where we stayed on our first trip as a family and we couldn't believe how quiet it was - and we were there for Easter week!

Universal will still be around for the next trip.

I finally made up my mind about the birthday money and will soon the proud owner of a Nook Simple Touch e-reader. I'm very happy with my choice; this will get a lot of use. Plus, as a birthday gift from my dad, it's very appropriate, since he gave me my love of books and we have a history of going to Barnes & Noble together. :lovestruc

And then....I ordered this beauty for it: [cue choir of angels...:cloud9:]

The next time I have a moderate trip planned, it will be at CSR.
