"Babe, I Messed My Pants..." An Oct 2013 TR - FINAL UPDATE! Added 5/24

OMG I'm so jealous of your photo with Rabbit - so cool :)

Remember whatever you do for your wedding it has to be what the 2 of you want, you're the most important people on the day

I love your DHS photos and congrats on beating Lumar on TSM, I always try to beat my hubbie on all those type of rides but rarely do :rotfl2:

A wedding at CSR seems perfect for you guys! I can't believe how expensive Disney weddings are, I wish I did one, but I wasn't really into my wedding back then so I just didn't bother. :confused3 Have you looked into the Swan and Dolphin? I don't think you have to book through Disney to have a wedding there either, which means it's probably cheaper and they have some really nice places for a wedding.

I kind of skimmed through the info on it. It sounds stupid and selfish but it's just not what we want, you know? I know it would save us so much money, and it's not totally off the table.... but I want to see if we can make it work the DFTW way! :rotfl2:

Yay, DHS! I need to stay in the Boardwalk so I can walk there. I know I've stayed in the Beach Club, but I never walked, it just seems SO much father than the Boardwalk!

I think it depends on WHERE in the BW you stay. If you're at the Inn, you might as well be at the BC! We were the last room in a hallway that ended right at the walkway to DHS. Literally, when we used the Super Secret Entrance, we went up 4 flights and our room was right there in front of us.

Your PP pictures are so cute! We never do PP pics there for some reason, and when we do, they are always awful!

We usually do one, but this guy just kept going so we went with it! It was nice and I am pleasantly surprised by how not-terrible I look! :rotfl2:

OMG I'm so jealous of your photo with Rabbit - so cool :)

I've been waiting YEARS to meet Rabbit! The first time I ever went to WDW was in 2002 and we met Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore, but no Rabbit. I saw him out for meet & greets in 2007 and then never again! I don't know if he is out for a limited time or permanently now that they've redone Pooh Thotful Spot into an actual meet & greet area! But he was soooooo great!

Remember whatever you do for your wedding it has to be what the 2 of you want, you're the most important people on the day

People keep making fun of me, saying I'm going to become a bridezilla and I really don't want that! Thankfully, step-mom is the only one giving me push-back so she's literally outnumbered and overruled! :thumbsup2 She'll get over it when she sees how awesome everything is! And we're really trying hard to NOT over do it!

I love your DHS photos and congrats on beating Lumar on TSM, I always try to beat my hubbie on all those type of rides but rarely do :rotfl2:

Thank you!! I could NOT believe I beat him! I'll usually be ahead for the whole game and then he'll sneak by me at the last minute in the bonus round! Not this time!! :cool1:

Great update, Ali. You got a lot done that morning at the Studios.

I LOVE the photopass pictures...especially the one with the frame (that new frame magic shot is a new favorite of mine).

How long of a walk is it to the Studios from the Boardwalk? We're doing a split stay in September and the second part will be at the BWV.

I’m so sorry that you hurt yourself. But I’m glad you didn’t update too much while I was at DLR! I am having a heck of a time catching up with everyone!!

Family wedding drama - how fun. :( HOWEVER, I am loving your location idea! I did not know that was an option, and it looks beautiful and sounds very do-able. :woohoo:

Ugh - I know what it’s like to be in a job you hate. I am so sorry - I know you are miserable. The right thing will come along, but waiting for it/searching for it is so hard. Try not to let it get you too down. Focus on your wedding plans and other positive things.

Oh, I wish I was in DHS right now! That breakfast sandwich looks surprisingly good. Of course, I am really hungry…… Love all the FP rides you were able to hit so quickly. :woohoo: Fabulous PP pics! You must be really pleased with those. ::yes::

Great update, Ali. You got a lot done that morning at the Studios.

Having the ability to use the FP+ AND the paper passes made things really awesome! I know things won't ever be like that again!

I LOVE the photopass pictures...especially the one with the frame (that new frame magic shot is a new favorite of mine).

We had a great photographer - he was really into it and he made it fun!

How long of a walk is it to the Studios from the Boardwalk? We're doing a split stay in September and the second part will be at the BWV.

Lumar says it was 15 minutes, but we didn't speed walk. It was a gorgeous morning and the walkway is shady at that time of day so we took our time. The afternoon was another story! :scared:

I’m so sorry that you hurt yourself. But I’m glad you didn’t update too much while I was at DLR! I am having a heck of a time catching up with everyone!!

I felt like such a moron! Lumar keeps telling me how lucky I am that I didn't REALLY hurt myself. :sad2:

Honestly, I felt TERRIBLE for neglecting my TR but then I realized that you were not the only one who was on vacation so I'm glad I made it easy for people to catch up!

Family wedding drama - how fun. :( HOWEVER, I am loving your location idea! I did not know that was an option, and it looks beautiful and sounds very do-able. :woohoo:

On Sunday I'll be seeing my step-mother for the first time since we had this little argument. Can't wait to see how that's gonna go... I didn't know CSR was an option, either! I'm so glad that we discovered it because it just feels right! :goodvibes

Ugh - I know what it’s like to be in a job you hate. I am so sorry - I know you are miserable. The right thing will come along, but waiting for it/searching for it is so hard. Try not to let it get you too down. Focus on your wedding plans and other positive things.

It's just so terrible. I'm a week behind on my work and they told us that there is no OT being approved. Like, really?!?! :confused3 I can't wait to quit!!

Oh, I wish I was in DHS right now! That breakfast sandwich looks surprisingly good. Of course, I am really hungry…… Love all the FP rides you were able to hit so quickly. :woohoo: Fabulous PP pics! You must be really pleased with those. ::yes::

I wish I was there too! It would be so much better than here in CT...where it's 12 whole degrees and my horrible neighbor (whom I've complained about countless times) is upstairs having a shouting match with her three year old. :sad2:

“Because I’m An Idiot! That’s Why!”

When we last off, Lumar and I had just walked 264 miles in the blistering heat, back to our room at the BWV.

Ok it was like 15 minutes and it was like 85 degrees, but still.

We freshened up a bit, dumped the bags out and headed back out to the boardwalk. This time, walking in the opposite direction as we headed off to our dinner ADR.

Which, I was super excited about because it’s one of my favorite meals!

Were we heading off to the Magic Kingdom?? Or Animal Kingdom?? Maybe Downtown Disney? Or another resort?

Heck no!

It was SATURDAY, and during FOOD & WINE!!! So you KNOW I had to make an ADR in World Showcase! :headache:

We ended up getting there pretty early. Our ADR was at like 5:30 or something and I think we got there around 4. We were pretty hungry already so we decided to stop for something small.

In World Showcase.

Because it still had not occurred to me yet that it was SATURDAY.

During FOOD & WINE.

It was literally elbow to elbow. Like, if a zombie apocalypse broke out right then and there, we would have been screwed.

Lumar: Why the heck is it so crowded? Is there a celebrity here or something?

Me: No. It’s Saturday.

Lumar: So?

Me: Well you should always avoid World Showcase on the weekends as a general rule…but even more so during Food & Wine.

Lumar: Then why are we here?

Me: Because we have dinner reservations at Rose & Crown.

Lumar: Yes, I know that… but why did we make dinner reservations in Epcot on a Saturday during Food and Wine if you’re supposed to avoid that?

Me: Because I’m an idiot! That’s why!

Lumar shakes his head and gives me that “I expected more from a DISer” look.

We made our way from the IG over to China and grabbed two ordered of pot stickers:

I texted Jen (Nermel9!) to comment on how busy it was. I think her reply to me was something along the lines of “NEVER GO TO WORLD SHOWCASE ON A SATURDAY DURING FOOD & WINE!!! ARE YOU INSANE!? EVERYONE KNOWS THAT!!”

OK she didn’t say it quite like that. But she should have. Because I’m an idiot. :rolleyes1

The pot stickers were delicious and just what we needed to fill some space before dinner. We shoved our way back into Future World to pass the rest of the time until dinner.

I think I had made some FP+ reservations but I didn’t write it down so I don’t know for sure. But we went over to Nemo and Figment, and then browsed around in Mouse Gear for a while doing some pin trading.

We passed this awesome hawk on our way back towards World Showcase, around 5pm.

We made it back to the UK in plenty of time, although there was an enormous amount of people inside the bar.

Like, I wouldn’t go in there at that moment if they had the last working bathroom in all of Epcot and my bladder was ready to burst.

We checked in and got our pager, but it went off in less than 2 minutes.

Our server’s name was Scott. Which was really funny because he was Scottish.

And his accent was A-MAZING

So we placed our drink orders:

Welsh Dragon for me (I would be hammered all the time if I wasn’t too lazy to learn how to make this drink myself) and Lumar had a Guinness. Actually, Lumar had TWO. But not at the same time.

And for dinner, Lumar had the Grilled New York Strip, no mushrooms:

And I, naturally, had the Fish & Chips:

Our meals were fantastic, and we had a great table! Check out the view:

After dinner, Scott asked us if we’d like any dessert. We already knew we wanted the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Scott joked about it being so good and how he never shares with anyone because he’s too selfish.

A few minutes later he comes back out with TWO. I was MORTIFIED thinking “oh my gosh he thinks I’m a cow and I eat an entire dessert by myself!” And let's not forget my traumatic childhood dessert story from earlier in this TR... :faint:

I mean, I COULD eat an entire dessert by myself, but I hadn’t done that in a VERY long time.

Turns out HE was mortified for not understanding that we only want one and he wanted to take one off the bill. Lumar told him not to worry about it, it was totally fine with us, and we’d be happier not having to share. Scott apologized again, and then again when he returned a few minutes later with water refills.

And yes, I ate the entire thing by myself ;)

Our entire experience here was completely perfect, and I continue to tout my love of Rose & Crown. For me, this is my Must Eat on every Disney Trip!

After dinner, it was about 8pm. World Showcase was still really crowded and Illuminations wasn’t until 10pm, so we decided to just head back to the BWV. Which was great because the IG is right there in the UK pavilion.

I can’t remember if we did anything else once we got back. We may have stopped in the gift shop, but I know that when we got back to the room we decided to call it a night and got ready for bed! I think we were literally in bed, lights off, at like 9pm! Couple of crazy kids, we are, huh?

Up next: Mickey’s “Now That’s Better!” Halloween Party!

Ali, the good thing is that you are the cutest "idiot" I know

We've never been for F&W, but I now know for sure NOT to go on a Saturday night.

I'm glad we are NOT the only ones who LOVE Rose & Crown. It has become a favorite of ours after a few years absence and we will be back in September and Mark can't wait to have his scotch egg.

We often hit the sack at 9 p.m. too...those early mornings and walking around in 120 degree heat will do that to you.

/
Ha-Ha! We ALWAYS end up in Epcot on the weekend during F&W. Not because I don't know better but because we go to Party for the Senses which is held on Saturdays. It is TOTALLY crazy there on the weekends!!

:rotfl2: Thanks, Kat!

We've never been for F&W, but I now know for sure NOT to go on a Saturday night.

We've been there for F & W three times prior to this trip. I definitely knew better and I just didn't think about it when I was making ADRs! :confused3 Future World wasn't too crowded but World Showcase was a definite red zone!

I'm glad we are NOT the only ones who LOVE Rose & Crown. It has become a favorite of ours after a few years absence and we will be back in September and Mark can't wait to have his scotch egg.

:lovestruc Definitely my favorite place for lunch/dinner! And I think the waterfront seating really makes it for me!

We often hit the sack at 9 p.m. too...those early mornings and walking around in 120 degree heat will do that to you.

I was shocked at how much we SLEPT on this trip! We literally took a nap almost everyday! And if we didn't nap, we were in bed super early!

I've never been to Party for the Senses! It sounds cool though! I just couldn't believe the number of people packed into WS that day! It was insane!

:lmao: it's okay, that happens to the best of us! In August, we went to the parks on an EMH morning...when we weren't resort guests...and immediately went to Space Mountain...one of the EMH attractions. It had a 50 minute wait. Sometimes we just goof!

Those potstickers look great though! I love the ones from 'Ohana and I bet the F&W ones are even better.

I think misunderstandings that end with more dessert are the way to go :thumbsup2

Ugh! Seriously!! Don't you hate that!?! :headache:

They were really good! I like the ones from Ohana too, though! I don't know if either is *better* than the other... but they are both REALLY good! And that peach oolong tea they serve in China was REALLY good too!

I agree with you 100% on the dessert thing! I'd rather get something extra than something less!
:thumbsup2

Oh man! WS during F&W on a Saturday! :scared1:

Your food looks great, and what an amazing view! I am so disappointed that I ended up switching out our R&C ADR last trip - just didn’t fit in right with our plans and the DxDDP. It is one place that I really want to try! Now even more.

Wow Epcot sounds horrendous but your meal sounds good. It's funny as I've never eaten there except getting the fish & chips CS which I hated, I guess we have high expectations of our own nationalities food :rotfl:

first off, sorry you got hurt. That is great advice to not let other people's opinions upset you - but obviously easier said than done. I hope you heal up quick though!

I love the idea of the wedding at Coronado Springs - it looks, while still magical and on Disney property, just a little lower key and less intense (if that makes sense) ... and I love the idea of doing a Illuminations Dessert Party as the rehearsal dinner.

Whatever you do just remember to do what feel right/best for you and that something will go wrong but don't stress it and focus on the fact that at the end of day you will be married! (ok, enough unsolicited advice)

back to commenting on the TR:

That Torched Cherry Colada looks great! Didn't try that but definitely want to in the future

That last PP picture with the frame is a nice pic!

You whole scene from getting into EPCOT Saturday night makes me think of one of those GEICO commercials "Wow, it's crowded in EPCOT on a Saturday during Food & Wine" "yeah, everyone knows that" "well, did you know that Walt always had trouble coming up with names of characters which is why the Wizard in Fantasia is just his name backwards?"

Glad you enjoyed Rose & Crown - not quite a "must do" for us but we do enjoy it very much especially if you can get a table somewhat near Illuminations time and watch from their private viewing area!

Haha...I may have said something like that in my text, lol! :rotfl2: However, I always go to Food and Wine on the weekends. I know I shouldn't, I know it will be crowded, I know I'll be aggravated and yet, I always find myself there! :confused3

I love Rose and Crown! I wouldn't call it a favorite, but it's always really good when we eat there, and OMG that green drink looks SO good! It looks like a giant Midori sour, which used to be my go to drink when I would go out...ah, the good old days! :lmao: I'm going to have to remember that the next time and try one, because it just looks SO good! Can you just get it at the bar, or do you have to be sitting down and eating?

Wow, back to BWV and in bed by 9 huh? Brandon would love doing Disney with you guys! :rotfl2::thumbsup2

It WAS scary! There were so many people!

I never get in all the ADRs I want, and I just make sure I add them in as a definite for the next trip!

Wow Epcot sounds horrendous but your meal sounds good. It's funny as I've never eaten there except getting the fish & chips CS which I hated, I guess we have high expectations of our own nationalities food :rotfl:

We have pretty good fish & chips here in CT but for reason I'm obsessed with Rose & Crown's version. Maybe it's just the whole "everything is better on vacation" thing!

Thank you! I'm totally fine now!

The more I think about it, the more I love the idea of it all! The dessert party, Coronado Springs...all of it. I get to call Disney about it all in June!

Whatever you do just remember to do what feel right/best for you and that something will go wrong but don't stress it and focus on the fact that at the end of day you will be married! (ok, enough unsolicited advice)

I appreciate ALL advice!

It's awesome! I really wish they served full size versions!

That's so true! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: It does sound like that!

Glad you enjoyed Rose & Crown - not quite a "must do" for us but we do enjoy it very much especially if you can get a table somewhat near Illuminations time and watch from their private viewing area!

I'm always afraid to make dinner reservations that late because if we DON'T get a good seat for the fireworks I'll be sad! :lmao:

The same thing happens to us. We always, always, always, end up at F & W on a Saturday! :confused3

I think it's rum, mixed with green Hi-C (or something similar) and a few other things but it basically tastes like juice so it goes down nice and easy! I have no idea if you can get it at the bar but I don't see why not!

Wow, back to BWV and in bed by 9 huh? Brandon would love doing Disney with you guys! :rotfl2::thumbsup2

We were like a couple of old farts on this trip! We slept so much! :rotfl2:

Just checking in with you as I've not seen you on here for a bit (I know from FB that you are not happy at work).

Hi everyone!

So I know I've been MIA as far as The DIS is concerned for the last few weeks.

To be completely honest, I just haven't had it in me. This is a long post but I need to vent! I'll try to make it funny to break up the monotony of awfulness.

Some of you know that I have pretty bad anxiety, and I also suffer from bouts with depression (which runs amok on my mother's side of the family, unfortunately). I'm also prone to pretty bad migraines.

Over the last couple of years, the anxiety has gotten progressively worse...ironically (or maybe not so much), it coincides with when I started my current job. I hate going, I hate being there, and all I can think about every night is how much I'm dreading going back the next day. I've called out probably a dozen times in the last year and half, which is totally unlike me. I NEVER call out from a job. EVER. I've been applying since the summer for new jobs and I've only ever gotten two call backs. Went for interviews and never heard from them again. So there's that.

In addition, last year we moved from our second floor apartment to the apartment on the first floor, directly below our original. The woman who moved into our old one (again, directly upstairs from us now), is a total nightmare. She's probably around our age (30ish?). She has a three old daughter, and her mother also lives with her. It's been just about a year now that she moved in and we have literally been living in a nightmare ever since.

She's not a big woman...probably 100lbs soaking wet and holding the hose. But she stomps around so heavily that things fall off of our shelves. She has ZERO regard for the community's quiet hours, which are written in the lease agreement (10pm - 8am). She vacuums in the middle of the night, screams at her child and her mother, saying the worst possible things you can imagine. There is random banging - and I don't mean like she's hanging up picture frames....it's like she's pounding on the kitchen floor with a hammer. This goes on every day, all day and all night. I literally have not been able to sleep in almost a year due to her constant disregard for being a functional member of society. I've been complaining about her since about a month after they moved in (I gave her a month figuring she just moved in, she's doing the best she can with a small kid running around, etc).

But seriously, if I didn't know better, I would think I was living in the Paranormal Activity movie. There's just constant banging, stomping, and dragging noises coming from up there. Right this very minute, as I'm typing, she's Hulk Smashing all over the apartment, stomping around and hammering something in her kitchen. :confused3 It's 10:15pm, mind you.

I complained a couple of weeks ago because she randomly started blasting her stereo so loud that I could hear "I'm Sexy and I Know It" by LMFAO, word for word, over both our dishwasher and our own television. She kept it at that volume for 2 hours. We had a snow storm that day, and she went out onto her balcony that night and shoveled all the snow off...which of course piles down directly in front of our patio. That was no problem...it's snow...it melts. But the fact that she doesn't EVER bring her dog outside, and lets it use the bathroom on the balcony, and then doesn't clean it up... that's a problem. Because when she shoveled the snow off, all of the dog's business came down with it. In the summertime, the dog peed on the balcony directly onto our grill and into the herbs I was growing in planters.

She's so loud that I have resorted to wearing headphones when I'm watching TV, playing video games, or using the computer. Last night, I don't know what happened, but I do know that OVER my headphones, I could hear her stomping around and screaming at her daughter. I could then hear her daughter screaming while sobbing. She also kept saying that she knew that I was going to complain again, and she mentioned something to that effect several times. All of this started about 9:30pm and it went on all night long.

The good news is that I recorded it. I called the property manager about it AGAIN today, and they told me that they issued her a legal document (I think they called it a Cappa Letter?? Something like that!) on Monday. The letter tells her that she has 15 days to resolve the issue or she will be asked to vacate the premises. So I'm guessing, that the kid made some kind of noise (which I didn't even hear), and she freaked out because she knew that if I called again, she would get an eviction notice. The sad part is that if she had been able to control her temper a little better, I never would have known anything even happened. Additionally, I've NEVER complained about the "kid" noises. When something is clearly the result of a three year trying to entertain herself, I don't say anything. She never takes the kid out anywhere, they never play.... all she does is scream at her, constantly. If she wants to hop around the living room the Sponge Bob theme song, more power to her. But last night was awful. She just kept threatening that little girl over and over again and she wasn't using toddler appropriate language.

I've been told by everyone and their mother to call the police but I'm terrified that she will retaliate. Even though she could be arrested for it...I don't think she cares much. I mean, she was warned in October that if she got any more complaints in the next 90 day period they would start the eviction process... Obviously she didn't care about that and she has a freaking kid to worry about!

So anyway....there you have it. My neighbor is causing anxiety, my job is causing depression, and I can't sleep so I'm exhausted....mentally, emotionally, and physically. Now that I know my neighbor has been legally addressed, and I have a meeting with the property manager on Monday to listen to the recordings I have, I feel a little better. I'm also finally working on getting our debt paid off - which is good since come October, I have to give Disney a $4000 deposit for the wedding!!

But I've bored you enough for now! I just wanted to share all of this not only because it helps me to get it out there, but also so that you know I'm still alive and not intentionally neglecting my TR. I promise that I will do an update (maybe two!) this weekend!

Oh Ali :( I'm so sorry about everything! That is absolutely brutal so I don't blame you for not being around. That being said, I'm glad you have the Disney wedding to look forward to, and I hope things start looking up soon
