B&P's VR 11/10/2012 UK/AAP/UKDP Day 1 Arrival & Epcot 6/10

Everything is looking great! You are on a DIY roll!! :woohoo:
The newsletters came out perfect and I laughed out loud when you said you already had to replace your toner 3 times in one night!! ahaha
Love it!
Where did you decide to use your free room night? You are staying at the BC I think for your VR?

You've been such a busy bee! I've been following your facebook posts, but seeing everything in picture form shows how hard you've been working! I love how thorough your newsletters are. The frames are super cute--Love those!

Glad things are getting done!

Thanks! I have started getting even more done too! Will be posting them tomorrow, I hope.

Hey Bethie,

We caught the Superbowl, they showed it live over here too! First time I've ever watched it.

Your bathroom frames are gorgeous!

Love the news letters, I sat and re-read them over again because they're just wonderful.

You're getting soo much acomplished and it all looks fab! xx

Ruth,

What did you think of the Super Bowl? Was a good game at least.

Wow! Thanks for the compliments. I really appreciate them. A couple of our guests have called me to tell how great the newsletters are. I feel really good about that. :cool1:

I feel good about finally getting some stuff done. I have already added some new projects to the list and may come up with some others.

I love all of your projects! Your newsletters really came out great, very professional looking. I hope you enjoyed the super bowl, even though the Pats lost. I won't lie though - my family of Giants fans was very happy with the outcome ;) Football is not really my sport but I'm glad the Giants won because if they lost it would be miserable to be around some of my family members!

Thanks, Becky! I really love this newsletter. I have already started on the next one. Just need the Christmas party, Osborne lights and Food & Wine fest info to get really get going. :scared1:

It was a good game. I am life long Jets fan, so I would have been happier if neither team won this game. :happytv:

Ur such a DIY QUEEN!! check u out, i like it :lovestruc

Thanks! The funny thing is, I am not normally like this. I am not a crafty person typically. Maybe now, I wil finally start the scrapbooks I have wanted to do for years. :rotfl:

Thanks Tricia! I am a good roll right now. I hope to get a lot done with the three day weekend. Maybe finish the door hangers and a picture project I have been working on.

The toners have been crazy. I have gone through a couple more since then. Still cheaper than printing all this stuff out at Kinkos though. Glad I am amusing you.

We are doing our free night at BC. We like staying put as much as possible. I have finally figured out most of our wedding week schedule so I am happy not to be stressing about that.

How is your planning coming?

You've been such a busy bee! I've been following your facebook posts, but seeing everything in picture form shows how hard you've been working! I love how thorough your newsletters are. The frames are super cute--Love those!

Thanks for the all compliments Danielle! I love seeing all the completed stuff start to pile up. I am resisting the urge to do too much now, so I am not totally bored later. :)

____________________________________________

I do have a couple of posts that need to get done. More DIY stuff that is done, menus and wedding week plans and hope to get them up by the end of this weekend.

Hope everyone had a fabulous Valentines Day!!!

I have been getting some stuff done, but just haven't posted it. I must be a better DisBride and share. :surfweb: I feel a little all over the place again with getting stuff done, so hopefully I can focus this weekend and get some stuff crossed off the list.

One thing I think we have finally settled is the music. I want all Disney for the ceremony and mostly for the key moments of the reception. I also wanted to have the 6 princesses represented at some point. Here's what we have so far...all opinions are always welcome.

Prelude - Part of Your World, A Whole New World, Someday My Prince Will Come, A Dream is A Wish, I See The Light from Tangled. I have to admit that we had not seen Tangled until November when we were on the Dream. I am borderline obsessed with it now.

Officiant & Groom - Heigh Ho I really think this is perfect. Paul is eh on it, but I think he will come around. :rolleyes1

Fairy God Children - Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo

Me - Once Upon A Dream

Recessional - Disney Medley (only if we can hear it before hand). Or Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah and Married Life from Up.

Introduction - Kiss The Girl

First Dance - Jersey Girl by Bruce

Start of the buffet - Be Our Guest (what else?)

Cake - When You Wish Upon A Star (If we go with the Disney Medley then this might become Married Life)

Last Song - Rockin' All Over the World by Bruce

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Menus....next....

Menus

Ladies Luncheon - I have not been given any guidelines or menus to pick from for this event, so I am just kind of winging it. This one is totally up in the air for that reason.

Portobello Soup (from Artist Point)
Caesar Salad
Tea Sandwiches
Scones and jam tarts (maybe)
Alice in Wonderland themed cupcakes
Beverages: Soda, lemonade, iced tea, coffee and tea. I may offer pinot grigio, pinot noir and Rosa Regale since I have a $1000 food and beverage minimum.

Welcome Dinner - We are going with a Bella Notte theme for this. I hope to even have do Lady & Tramp themed decor. :lovestruc I am doing The Lady & Tramp Rehearsal Dinner Menu with some tweaks...

* Romanine, Radicchio and Spinach Salad w/ balsamic vinaigrette and sundried tomato ranch dressing
* Freshly prepared seasonal vegetables (kinda want to know what we get here)
* Cheddar cheese soup with pretzel breadsticks (subbing for pasta with olive oil, arugula and feta) - Paul thinks that this should never happen to pasta :rotfl:
* Spaghetti and Meatballs (duh) When we tell people it is L&T themed, everyone always asks if we are having this
* Parmesan-crusted chicken breast with a creamy tomato sauce (comes with a mushroom sauce, but Paul won't go near one!)
* Lobster ravioli (maybe like the Coral Reef) the menu has a mahi mahi on it, but don't think that our guests will love it. I need to offer something for my pescatarian friend.
* Ciabatta and Focaccia with olive oil and butter
* Chocolate Cannoli and probably a grooms cake (chocolate with peanut butter cup mousse) Taking out the Italian Citrus Cake with Almonds
* Beverages: soda, iced tea, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Sam Adams and Sangria (was thinking the sangria from Via Napoli, but Jackie says that Yachtsman's is better). I will have to do a taste test. :lmao: coffe and tea too

Reception We are doing the Tinker Bell Menu with some changes.

Pre-reception
* Fresh fruit with yogurt dip (I now have to have the Mickey watermelon!)
* Strawberry Soup Shooters (replaces Macerated Berry Shot)
* Smoked Salmon platter (not sure on this one, it could be cut)
* Maybe move the pastries here too

Reception
* Oven-roasted golden potatoes with caramelized shallots herb butter (replaces the potatoes with fennel and parmesan cheese)
* Sausage and (we're adding) bacon
* Mickey Waffle Bar
* Carved flank steak with 4 sauces (replacing grilled chicken with mushroom and wine sauce)
* Penne alla vodka (replacing penne with an artichoke cream) Again, Paul won't touch that.
* Egg station
* Wild berry and grand marnier cream cheese crepes with vanilla sauce
Beverages: soda, iced tea, coffee, tea, juices (including the special juice from 1900 Park Fare) Mimosa, Bellinis, Screwdrivers, Bloody Marys and probably Rosa Regale (my favorite!)
* Wedding cake (tbd Mad Hatter)

Dessert Party We have a good six hour break between our reception and DP, so not worried about people being too full. They may eat on their own, but I have no control over that. :)
* Vanilla ice cream with various toppings and root beer and Coke for floats
* Flambeed donuts with rum and coffee gelato
* Fruit salad
We are up in the air on the cookies and brownies. Just not sure how many will get eaten.
Beverages: coffee, tea, hot chocolate, after dinner cordials. Thinking of having coffee with Baileys (my fave) and a hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps

Farewell Breakfast - This is going to be very simple.
* Scrambled Eggs
* Bacon and Sausage
* Hash Browns (hoping for patties)
* French toast (either the Maple Vanilla from GF Cafe or apple cinammon)
* Fruit salad
* Assorted pastries
Beverages: Coffee, tea and juices

Please let me know what you think. Comments, suggestions. Things I might be missing out on.

For our tasting in April we are going to try: oven roasted potatoes, strawberry soup (have to make sure they get it right :lmao:), penne alla vodka, the cream cheese crepes, flank steak, parmesan crusted chicken, flambeed donuts and funnel cake pudding.

Thanks for reading along. Hopefully, I will have some pictures for the next round.

Awww. I love that you're coming in to Once Upon a Dream. I like to dance around the house with Smokey and sing that. (He doesn't think it's as fun as I do.

Will you no longer be my FDM if I tell you I don't like Tangled? :(

I love all of your song choices though. :D A good mixture of Bruce and Disney! I feel like you need to include Born in the USA -somehow- though, especially because your reception is in the American Pavilion! Just a thought. :D

As for your food.. Omigosh, Bethie. I am so hungry. This all sounds fabulous. What is funnel cake pudding?!?! WHY CAN I NOT COME TO YOUR TASTING?!?!?!

Hiya!
Thanks so much for posting your menus and telling me about it! ;)
Your menus sound sooo goood mmmmmm lol
I really hope we can do a breakfast, I am waiting to hear back from Vita!
It's only been about 25 hrs so I can't get anxious just yet... hahaha But I am!!
write me back.... now! :rotfl: I am losing my mindddd!! mmm you're getting Capital Grill tomorrow... hahaha

I love all the song choices too, very fitting and cute! I love the "Be Our Guest" for the meal too! I might try to work that into mine somehow too! Maybe when the first course is presented! ;)

Right now for our DP we are having the funnel cake bread pudding action station... I am very interested to see what the heck this really is. lol Funnel cake in itself hooked me in!

I always support more pictures! :yay:

Aww love your music choices! I too love Tangled, I love Flynn & especially Pascal. :lovestruc

Once Upon A Dream is a wonderful choice for your song.

I agree with Jackie - Born in the USA ought to be included.

Food sounds yummy... though I am going to make a confession. I've never had funnel cake :goodvibes xx

Love all your plans for the music! Reading your menu choices has made my stomach begin to rumble. All your choices sound so considerate of everyone! I would never order some of the stuff Disney has on their menus, unless of course I am at Disney. Everything they cook there seems to taste delish!
thanks for the update!

Bethie sweetie
Music and menus are all wonderful!!! Wish I was coming to your VR!! It is going to be stunning!!

You'll have to let me know how the flambeed doughnuts and funnel cake bread pudding are! I want them for our's, but we are not able to do a tasting at Epcot without paying a big chunk of change so I'll have to go in blind.

Everything looks amazing! I love the menus and everything!!

Ur menu is 2 die 4! Everything sounds delicious :thumbsup2 ur music choices sounds perfect for u :cutie:

Thanks Michele! I really like the look of the them. I hope that they price out okay. We both love our music choices. Our guests, who are use to it being all Bruce all the time, may be a bit disappointed. :rolleyes1

Everything looks amazing! I love the menus and everything!!

Thanks, Megan! I really feel like things are finally moving along.

Good win by the Rangers last night. Rangers and Bruins on Sunday!!

I will definitely let you know how they are. I would love to do a second tasting at BW since our welcome dinner is there. Too bad we aren't going at the same time, we could have been each other's guests. :)

Bethie sweetie
Music and menus are all wonderful!!! Wish I was coming to your VR!! It is going to be stunning!!

Joanne, that is very sweet, coming from the woman who had the best VR! I wish I could have everyone come!

I lik it! I really appreciate how you're trying to incorporate all the princesses.

Thank you. Having all of the Princesses musically represented was one of the first things I decided.

Awww. I love that you're coming in to Once Upon a Dream. I like to dance around the house with Smokey and sing that. (He doesn't think it's as fun as I do.

Love the story about dancing around the Smokey. I do that with the boys and they don't appreciate it either. What's their problem??

I will still be your FDM if you don't like Tangled. I don't like BSB, so we are even. :)

I had to have mostly Disney music, but Bruce is so important to us that we had to throw some in there. For our dj, we actually have a list of must play songs and must play Bruce songs. Oops.

It's funny that you mention Born in the USA. When we told Shelley our theme and our plans that was the first song she mentioned too. The only problem is that Paul and I don't like it. Our friends would mock us if we play it. It fits perfectly, but we won't be playing it. Sorry.

Hiya!

Thanks for compliments, Tricia. I am really looking forward to seeing how our guests like all of the choices.

We skipped the Capital Grille. We spent the day with a friend of ours and were having such a good time that we decided to stay longer. We will make it there soon, I am sure.

Go for the Be Our Guest when the first course is served. That's an awesome idea! Or you could do it as people are walking in.

More pictures coming tomorrow, I hope.

Thanks, Ruth! We really loved Tangled when we finally saw it. The minute we heard I See the Light, we knew we had to incorporate it.

As I said to Jackie, Born in the USA is perfect, but we don't like it. Sorry. :rolleyes1

Funnel cake is an interesting item. Smells great. The first couple bites are good, but once it gets cold, it loses something. You can try it at Epcot and MK next time you visit. ;)

thanks for the update!

Thanks! I am just glad that they are done. I was waking up at night thinking about what to have. I was happy when our vegetarian friend declined, but then we invited the pescatarian. At least she is a close friend of mine, so I can just ask her. The veggie is a bit more challenging. I am fairly adventurous eater, but Paul is very picky. That makes it interesting.

How are your plans coming?

ahh, my plans, are coming...slow. We have had a bit of bad news lately, so I have only been able to take it slow. Thank you for asking. I don't want to hyjack this thread. But I am trying to keep up on my pretrip.

Love all the music choices! They are perfect! :wizard:

...Anddd, the menu choices are making me SUPER hungry. :rolleyes1

Sorry to hear things aren't going too well for you. Hopefully, things will improve soon!

Thanks, Danielle! I know some of our guests will think otherwise on the music, but this time it's at Disney, so tough!!! :lmao:

I have my tea menu done too, so will be posting that next. I sometimes wish I hadn't gotten so carried away and done so many events, but it's done now.

Since I know both of you ladies are in Massachusetts, how about the weather today??? It was gorgeous out!!! Hopefully, it will stay this way for a while!

Wow! Can't believe I haven't updated in so long! Bad, bad Disbride.

In my defense, we have had some houseguests and I have been trying to get all of my stuff together for our PS. Not really much of a defense, but it's all I got. :lmao:

I do have a couple of updates, but I will do the easiest one tonight. It will be kind of all over the place, but here goes...

The cake After seeing Jackie's (and Meredith's WS cake in June)absolutely gorgeous cake, I finally came up with what I want for ours. A 2 or 3 tiered Mad Hatter (always wanted that anyway) done with a pink, gray and white marbleish look to it. And since our theme is Rockin' All Over the World, I want to have something from each park - definitely the four park icons and maybe like the pictures on Jackie's cake have our favorite attractions and maybe hotels (definitely BCV). Add in some musical notes and I think it will be lovely! I also think that UK and AA from Epcot need to be on there since our events are there. I was even thinking if they could maybe a teeny, tiny section of monorail?

Tea Menu I got some sample menus from my planner for the tea and pieced something together. She got it priced for me within one day :scared1: and I am pretty happy with it. We have a $1000 f&b minimum, so the price of $45 per person is good, since we have about 20 ladies coming. Here is the menu:

Caesar Salad
Mint & Grand Marnier Fruit Salad
Assorted Mini Gourmet Quiches
Scones with Devonshire Cream, Butter, Marmalade and Preserves
Finger Sandwiches on assorted breads - Shrimp Salad, Grilled Pear with Gorgonzola, English Cucumber with Chevre, Caprese on Focaccia ?
Assorted Cupcakes (Alice in Wonderland themed)
Coffee, assorted teas, iced tea, and lemonade. (I may add soda, but not sure)

I am really excited about this one. I always wanted a fancy, girly tea party and never have had one.

New Itinerary for PS Trip

Well, I can never leave well enough alone and have made some changes to the April trip.

The first day is still my birthday :lmao: and our planning session/tasting! I haven't done anything to that day. We will still be celebrating at the California Grill that night.

The second day is where things got switched around. After Jennifer posted Regina's price list on fb, I got to thinking that we should just hire Regina to do our shoot. I contacted to see if we could do this, seeing as how I had just contacted her to see what she could on her end regarding our scheduled Disney shoot for the same day. She said we could skip Disney, but just not tell them. Well, we had to switch the time because, it turns out she wasn't scheduled to do our shoot at all!

So, here is our new plan...

8-10am Hair & Makeup Trial with Janet Mednick
11am Go to Carolyn Allen's to look for something for Paul to wear ;)
2ish Meet with Shelley from Impressions
5:30 Photo shoot with Regina at the Poly and the BC. By switching to this timeslot, we get to have sunset pics, which should be lovely. I will post outfit ideas soon.
8:00 Dinner at Chefs de France. Stay in Epcot for a while, since it is EMH that night.

Alright, so I know it is really place, but any ideas, comments and thoughts are always welcome!! Thanks for reading along.

Eeek! I still love the cake. And I really like the monorail idea. You know what else could be cute? You could get that monorail playset and set it up around the cake! Or is that too cheesy?

I still love the tea menu. Yum!!!

Is Paul going to wear one of the Mickey vests? I hope so!

Also, when you're at Chefs de France, you should get their macaroni and cheese. It is SO GOOOOOD!!!!

If you like beef, you should get the bison at CA Grill. Chris talks about it a few times a week still!!
