The day was going so well, too. I took DD16 to the mall for a little Girls Day Out--shopping, pedicures and Starbucks. Leaving the mall, I backed out of our space in the parking deck...and hit a concrete post. CRUNCH! Ugh. I destroyed the tail light mechanism. The whole unit has to be replaced.

Glad it wasn't any worse and I guess it was good for DD16 to see there's life after a minor fender-bender, but geez! I really didn't need this.

 I've come close to many a fender bender myself. Don't be so hard on yourself. It is so easy to do. Besides a nice day at the mall, you are role-modeling mature behaviour when it comes to accidents.

I'm sorry about your tail light, but don't feel bad ... my DH did the same thing and put a big dent in his rear bumper ... of course he got upset because he doesn't know how he managed to do it, but I just told him accidents happen and thank goodness no one got hurt ... so now he just watches out more for those "moving" concrete posts in parking garages  ...
