Avoiding EMH in January?

Now that the schedule for January is out and the EMH schedule has changed, I think I am going to need to change my itinerary. I was planning to avoid the parks with EMH but now three of our days are at the evening EMH park(AK, MGM, and Epcot). Changing my ADRs could be a hassle. Do you think that in early January the EMH park will be pretty crowded (compared to non-EMH days)? Should I leave my schedule alone and just enjoy the extra time in the park? Thanks for your help!!

We went to all the available EMH last March and found it is really hit or miss. We found some crowded and some quite empty. We found there was not a lot to do at Epcot and AK but we enjoyed MGM and MK a lot. I would not change your plans. We are going in Jan this year and are planning to go to all EMH. If it is too crowded we will leave! Have a great trip. :cool1:

January is SUCH a slow time that I can't imagine that the "avoid the EMH" park strategy would be necessary.

Where are you finding the Jan hours? :confused3
The official web site only shows thru Dec.

Thanks

When we went in January this year we used EMH every single time. It was GREAT. I was so excited that when we went again in June with my parents I kept telling them how great it was. Then we got to MGM and had 2 hour waits for everything. So it's great during the slow times but really stunk during the month of June.

We were also there in January and went to all the evening EMHs as well. Crowds almost non-existant, except at MGM when Fantasmic lets out. :wizard:

Don't forget there's still a good chance that the schedule could be changed alittle bit.

These January hours listed in the DISboards...are they accurate? Can i count on them? Do they normally turn out to be on the money when the Disney website lists the hours????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I have been putting off making ADRs waiting for these!

The hours posted on wdwinfo.com look like last year's...especially since they're saying that the marathon & half marathon are on a Monday, Jan. 9, which is January '05's date. This year the 1/2 marathon will be on Jan. 7 and the full marathon on Jan. 8 (Sat & Sun). I would not take these dates as gospel at all. It's very deceiving...they should be posted as estimated times if they're not official.

We went in January 2004, and made good use of the EMH. We found the parks to be very slow, no matter what time we went.

Grrr... I wish I would have read your post first! I went and copied off the park hours listed and changed the EMH's that I had predicted and hours as well. Now, you're saying these aren't the real park hours? Ugh! I wish I wouldn't have even seen that link to the DIS hours if they're only predictions!

Has anyone checked both the DIS and the intercot Jan hours?
Are they both the same? Are these just projected hours?

The EMH info on wdwinfo.com is different then what I got off of touring plans a few weeks ago.
(projected EMHs, attendence predictions etc.).
So I think I will sit tight and not redo our touring plan/ADRs just yet.
I really want to avoid EMHs and with my current plan (from info. I gathered on the touring plan free site) compared to the wdwinfo.com site, I will now be at parks on a few EMH days. YIKES!

Me too!! That's why I want to know if I should change my schedule to avoid EMH. Will you be making changes if these Jan hours are correct?

yes, if these are the true January hours, I will be totally revising the touring plan. Right now I have 6 ADRs as well the family magic tour booked. No matter what I will keep one of the ADRs as is (Ohanas breakfast) as well as the family magic tour but am very willing to change/delete the other ADRs.

My question: are these projected hours/EMHs (on wdwinfo.com and intercot) or have they been verified to be true hours/EMHs?
I won't redo touring plan until I know that they are in fact true hours?

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

They are not projected. The information comes directly from sources within Disney. If you call by phone you can verify. All months through May are in their computer systems. Just because the web host for the Disney site has not updated their web site to post the hours does not mean the hours are not available. They are very lax in doing it. The calendars were released on Thursday, October 27.
