Avis rentals @ The Radisson - Do I need a reservation?

We will be staying at the Radisson on Friday night before our cruise. We will be at KSC all day Friday. What I am wondering is, when the towncar drops us off at the Radisson Friday morning, it will be too early to check in. I am hoping they can hold our luggage for us while we are at KSC. If they can, we can just catch a cab to KSC. But if we don't have any place to leave our bags, I'll need to rent a car. So, I am not sure what to do! I am not too crazy about leaving all our luggage in the trunk of a car all day.

I hate to reserve a car if I don't need one. I would also hate to get there and find out I need one and can't get one!

What should I do? Will the hotel keep our bags for us? Approx. what would it cost to rent a car for just the day?

I don't see why the hotel would not hold your bags. However for the cost of a cab. You could probably rent a small economy car and have a little more freedom for the same price.

How are you getting to the Radisson? If you rent a car at MCO (the airport) and drop it off Friday night or Saturday, it would probably be cheaper than a towncar etc.

We'll be in WDW for a week before the cruise, but we won't have a car. We're having a towncar pick us up at MCO and then again at CBR on Friday to take us to the Radisson.

I figured a cab from the hotel to KSC shouldn't be too expensive - it's only 8 or 10 miles right?

But like you say, we'd have a bit more flexibility if we had a car on Friday, the only thing is leaving the bags in the trunk if the hotel can't keep them for us.

Cancel the Town Car. Pick up an Avis car at the Hilton at WDW (location code LB3) and return it to the Radisson (location code P3F). I'm assuming you'd want a full-size car for your family and your luggage. Including taxes and surcharges, your total estimated cost is $70.32 + gas. And that's <i><b>without</b></i> applying any of the Avis discount codes that have been discussed on this board recently. Any of those codes should bring your costs down lower. I'm sure this is less than what you're paying for the town car. And consider the convenience of driving straight to KSC without worrying about whether you can store your bags at the Radisson and then worrying about whether to rent a car there or take a taxi... factor in the savings because you wouldn't have taxi fares...

This is the way to go.

Well, actually it's a stretch limo that I have reserved as a surprise for my family. So I am hesitant to cancel it.

Dave, what about this? :

Keep the limo ressie from CBR to the Radisson.
Rent a car at the Radisson for the day (Friday).
Like you say, that way I don't have to worry about whether or not they can hold our bags. From the rates shown on the previous post, I can get a nice buick to drive for a pretty good price.

Sound workable?

Why don't you get the limo for your airport to resort transfer? Then get the car for your resort to Cape Canaveral transfer.
